Deftacai, was itching…tweaking… jonesing…craving? No, itching was the right word. This was a like a horrible itch you couldn't scratch. The young man likened the awful feeling to being forcefully backstabbed, with a blade only barely penetrating the flesh. The body craving it to go deeper and make the wound wider, but the blade offering nothing greater than a slight puncture. Such a tease it was.
The itch, of course, being the need to cause some disorder. The young man worshiped chaos. To the point where not doing anything even moderately horrible, made the Rito-wannabe's hylian blood boil to unholy metaphorical temperatures that was likely melt the wax on the candles that he enjoyed dripping over his own (and other's) exposed chests.
Speaking of exposed chests, there was a potential prisoner somewhere amidst these islands. Deftacai had been stalking his teenage prey for a few weeks or so. The prey had a rather unpleasant name. Ulrich? Sounded like a mix of headache and ulcer, two things that didn't see like a fun time. Still, it wasn't like the name was going to get in the way of his jollies.
Young Ulrich had a few things going for him, that made him a prime candidate for being Deftacai's bitch. He definitely wasn't' horrible looking. Piercing amber eyes, tall stature, pretty blonde hair. This tall piece of man meat was lean enough, sure his muscles didn't glisten-when-oiled as well as Deftacai's did, but torture made muscle develop in a man. He wasn't total babe status, but he was definitely worthy of a tour fuck. However, Deftacai was not so petty as to have that as the only pre-requisite for a kidnap. The young man was from Outset Island, usually a tiny and insignificant place. However legends often foretold of the greatest evil being thwarted by a legendary hero. The legendary hero said to previously be an unknown and plucky youth from that tiny useless island. In such a small island, made of mostly barely evolved snot-dripping fetuses, it wasn't hard to figure that Ulrich was that hero. Sure there was girl on that island too, relatively spunky and around Ulrich's age. However, the misogyny that seeped from Deftacai's ignorant penis refused to allow the though that a female could be a threat.
So Deftacai snuck around this boring-ass hick island and awaited his prey.

"Keep it up the good work Bosco! I'll bring you back that tricorn hat!"
The youth ran from the small docks of Outset Island nearby their small village. His bear, Bosco, was the newly appointed captain of his ship. He couldn't captain the ship properly without a hat worthy of a captain. The boat was just barely large enough to fit the two of them, but maybe they would be able to take Bosco with them if he swam some.
The red and brown ferret was resting on his shoulders. There was more than enough room for Pabu in the boat given he hardly weighed as much as their clothes. The ferret happily chattered while riding Ulrich's shoulders. Ulrich lifted a hand and gave Pabu a pet before focusing on making his way to Rune's.
Ulrich couldn't keep himself from feeling like he was brimming with energy. Rune had decided that today was the day they were going to test out their dinghy. There was a small island on the horizon that they were planning on sailing to. He had spent as many rupees as he could from working with his pops. The dinghy was fifty rupees which was over three months payment. He had been irritated at first, but now the call of adventure was getting to him.
Maybe there was something more beyond the island.
"Oof"
Ulrich stumbled as he bumped into someone he was passing by. The man was shorter than him, but appeared better built than him. He had blond hair like him, but his eyes were a bright gold. His clothing suggested he wasn't from the island or at least new here. Ulrich couldn't recall seeing him before. He gave him a polite nod as he passed by.
"Sorry about that mister!"
Ulrich paid the stranger no more mind as he jogged around the corner to Rune's house. She should be almost finished getting ready already. He knocked on the door loudly, in case she was in the dojo. He took a moment to look over the front of her house. He had come here every day for who knows how long. Soon he wouldn't be coming here everyday. It was almost sad, but he couldn't deny the excitement of adventure. It would still be here when he got back anyway.
"Hey Rune! The dinghy's almost ready! Oh, and we need to get a hat for Bosco too!"
"Oh, Catastrophe~ Leave me to fade out the light… AND UNCAGE THE NIGHT!"
Deftacai softly chanted with spiteful melody, delivered with a jubilant flare from his childlike whisper. Unfortunately he was too caught up in his sick little mind to notice that his target had been advancing toward him. Before the pirate-mage was even remotely aware of his surroundings, the towering boy had bumped into him, almost in a little chest-to-chest thump.
In a fury, Deftacai snapped at the boy.
"YOU CLUMSY OAF! HOW DARE A LITTLE HICK LIKE YO-"
Actually, this reaction would have been worse, had the Hylian not been aroused by the little chest bump. Deftacai could've sworn that he felt the only of the nipped of the boy's muscular chest on his own. Unfortunately his fantastic psychosexual impulses, would further worsen his next reaction, upon realizing who the clumsy oaf was.
"…oooooh, you. Well then~" Deftacai cooed as he used fierce currents of wind to propel him up into the air slowly and maintain levitation. Now towering over the boy. He released a blast of sharps winds that emitted from his own well-sculpted body, not only fiercely knocking Ulrich to the ground, but ripping the majority of both their clothes off in the process.
"Well look at your gross meaty physique, it's unfortunate you're not as beautifully defined as me~!" the Hylian mocked while kissing his own bicep. "But don't worry as my pet, you'll be whipped into shape~" …and with that, Deftacai enclosed the boy in a crushing air vacuum that would render his body momentarily paralyzed and barely conscious. With giddy and maniacal laughter, Deftacai brought himself back to the ground and picked up Ulrich aggressively, tossing him over his shoulder like a slab of meat. A high pitched squeal rang from the Hylians mouth as he could feel the boy's exposed and tender chest rub against his shoulder.
The villain licked his lips in anticipation as he slowly dragged away...
You are the reason that I breathe, the reason I still believe
The sword in Rune's hand was almost just an expansion of herself. It was such a close part of her she felt as though it was a part of her. And right now, her sword was the only thing she could put her energy into. She was going to test out the dinghy with Ulrich today. Finally! Her dreams where starting to come true and with Ulrich by her side she knew that they could do anything together. She did one final sword strike, when she heard Ulrich yell for her. She quickly grabbed her sheath and wrapped it around herself and placed her sword inside.
Walking out she noticed.. Ulrich seemed to be shirtless and.. what? There was a man with him. Rune wasn't fond of strangers. She took another step as the man slung him over his shoulder and she quickly pulled her sword out. If this man thought that he could take him away from her, he was very very wrong. No one could take Ulrich away from her, he BELONGED to her. Well, maybe not TO her but, he belonged next to her. If he ever left it she wouldn't know what to do.
"Uh, excuse me. That's mine." She quickly stated running after the man, and quickly ready to aim her sword for the guy, unaware of what she was getting into. But there was no way this man would take away the most important person in her life. She'd never let that happen, not a chance.

HERES TO WHAT MAKES EVERYDAY WORTH IT
He took a step back. He couldn't keep himself from smiling. It was all so exciting. He had been fighting it every day until now. It was a long walk to get over his fear of getting shipwrecked. Rune stood there by him the entire time. Sure she was pushing him along for her adventurous plans, but he actually wanted to join it along her. He laughed to himself. What better time to tell her than now?
"RUN-"
"What?" His arm crumpled to his side. It was like he was hit by one of those cows charging at him. His ears were pained by the roar of the wind. He could feel his clothes rip apart as the wind tore at his flesh. His vision blurred as he watched the front of Rune's house slip to the right. He fell into the dirt, scrapping him even more.
Pain. So much pain. Where did this come from? What hit him? Ulrich couldn't answer any of these. He tried to pick himself up. He tried to look around or run away. It took every bit of effort he had to just breath. His eyes slowly glanced skyward as he questioned why this day could go so wrong.
"Guh!"
Ulrich tried to cry out as the breath was squeezed out of him. He felt like Bosco had wrapped him in a bear hug. His lungs burned. His bones hurt. He could hardly breath. His eyes felt heavy as he desperately clung to consciousness. He felt his center of gravity flip upside down. His senses were blaring with confusion and pain.
He could hardly hear the words of some man. It sounded like that stranger that had yelled at him. Could he be the one who hit him? Ulrich tried to wrack his mind, but pain flooded his every thought and made it difficult to think. His eyes slowly drifted upward to see Rune. Her sword was trained on him. More appropriately on the man who was holding him.
There was so much he wanted to say. He put whatever energy together that he could. He wanted to say he didn't appreciate the way everyone was treating him. He didn't like being treated like a sack of grain or meat. He wanted to tell her that he was happy to go on adventures. He wanted to tell how much fun he's had all these years. He would do so much more if he had the time.
"Rune..."
He desperately tried to gather his breath. All he wanted to ask was her to help him so he could make up for all the things he didn't say.
Well that was a-fucking-dorable. The plucky little girl wanted to establish herself as the hero. Unfortunately, such progressive thinking had no room in a world that was going to be drowned under Deftacai's ridiculously well-toned godliness. The one-girl rescue party armed herself with a sword, what a daring little tomboy.
Another maniacal cackle emitted from Deftacai's pursed and bountiful lips. In his ideal kidnapping scenario, the girlfriend didn't really fit. But the trousers, which were incidentally the only clothes he had left, did. Well, like his shirt and the behind of his new victim, she'd be ripped to pieces.
"Sorry Princess, but your plumber is about to get his pipes fixed. Now scurry along with that piece-of-shit sword before one of us get's tetanus."
Deftacai quickly propelled Ulrich's limp body into the air, as he flexed into another fantastic pose. As his muscles bulged, another flurry of wind blades emerged from his bare torso, launching and honing in the futilely frivolous femme fatale. As Ulrich fell back down from the sky, Deftacai caught him with his arms spread out, newlywed-style. The Hylian gave a toothy grin to his reward, before winking at the the girl, likely collapsed on the floor.
"Mine now, dearie~" he jeered, before flying away.
You are the reason that I breathe, the reason I still believe
Rune looked at the man, hoping she could just intimidate him into dropping Ulrich. Sadly, that didn't seem to happen. In fact, he was AMUSED by her anger like she couldn't take him? HAH! She was the best fighter in the seas she clinched her fists tightly around her sword, glaring at him more, in no response. Princess? If anything that guy was the princess, she wasn't some measly princess she was a warrior! And her sword? NO her father made this sword and he was the only warrior that could ever beat her. No No NO NO NO she swung her sword at him, only to be hit by some wind, and she was blown back and fell to the ground, unable to recover.
She watched as the fucker took away Ulrich as if it was nothing she stared at him in pain, slowly getting up she ignored the pain and ran after him, even as he started flying away. Running after him desperately, staring at the boy in his arms. She started to scream "ULRICH! Ulrich! Get back here!" She screamed over and over, hoping the boy would come back. No, he couldn't leave her, he wouldn't leave her! Right? She'd have to have him come back. She slowly started running in the water, just slowing her down, she fought more as the waves pushed against her face until she was almost submerged in the blue.
Then she was swimming, and swimming, he wasn't anywhere to be seen, and she couldn't tell if her face was wet from the ocean or if the tears she felt stinging at her eyes where what was damaging her, she swam and swam... he'd come back. He'd drop him. Ulrich could get hurt. Ulrich.... come back. She stopped and realized that he was gone, she couldn't do this. She couldn't swim after him. She closed her blue eyes and floated on her back, her pink hair clinging to her face due to the waters.
She closed her eyes and took a moment, to breath, to take a second. She had to get him back.. she had to, but how? She laid, her hair around her she floated, and waited. Waited for something to come to her. "Ulrich.." She breathed out. Thinking about the breakfasts they had shared and the time that they had spent together. He had become that annoying little boy that was scared of everything to.. to... Ulrich! The guy she spent every day with, the guy she was supposed to travel the world with. The one that was meant to be by her side always. Her best friend, the only one who cared enough to watch her when her father couldn't. Was she going to lose that all now? Was he really gone?
Not if she wouldn't let it.
She stared at the direction they left, she'd find a way. She knew she would. She wouldn't let the number one person in her life get away that easy.
Calanthe may not have been on Outset long; but the Gerudo was making herself useful, having used her racial strength to do some stuff that.. well neither Rune nor Ulrich knew much about. She was coming back from an errand, when she felt wind whip around. It was much more violent then normal; Calanthe felt her instinct suddenly ring. She didn't like this one bit; as a Gerudo, she was trained to recognize magic when she saw or felt it. ''This feels way too off.'' she muttered to herself. She decided just about then to go see Rune at her house, wondering if the blonde swords woman had an idea of what was going on. After all, Calanthe knew that things followed that woman easily.. like trouble had a sense for her.
Running, Calanthe let out a yelp when she was thrown to the ground by vicious winds. She knew for SURE this was not natural, if one took in the vegetation of the area. That angered the Gerudo; someone was casting magic on the island that accepted her, despite her race!? She would have to go do something about that, as the red haired girl ran towards the house of her crush. Arriving however, she noticed the door open.. and nobody around. Giving a confused frown, she quickly ran inside. She saw nothing, and then quickly took a tour around in the house, finding Rune nowhere. ''Rune?'' she called out. No answer. Now that worried Calanthe; she was generally near by.
Running back out, that panicked feeling earlier twisted in her gut. Something was wrong; she knew it, as she looked around. Running to the near by tree, she noticed pieces of.. clothing? Worried, she picked it up, and noticed it was part of Ulrich's clothing.. along with something else. But no blood. This confused the girl, as she shook her head. She had t- that's when she noticed the giant bear. The very, very giant bear that was approaching her; the girl almost took a defensive stance, but then remember. The boy had a bear didn't he? The girl looked at the creature, holding the cloth from Ulrich's clothing; she knew it was his since she had spotted him this morning.. plus who else would wear this type of clothing, particularly this size? Even ripped, it was big enough to wrap around her in some places.
But the bear was pointing; towards the sea? Giving it another look, she ran past it, looking. She couldn't see anything. What did the bear want her to see? Shifting her gaze back and form, she then spotted something odd on the waves; a shape that was not a boat. ''Shit, don't tell me that's Rune..'' she said to herself, before she turned to look at the shore. Rune's blade was on it. It didn't take Calanthe more then that, as she placed the cloth in the rope near the dingy. She then threw her own clothes, apart from her under shirt and underwear onto it, to prevent it from flying. ''Watch my stuff bear!'' she said, dropping her rupees on it in order to keep it from flying off as well.
Calanthe then jumped off the dock, immidiately jumping into the cold ocean. Her long red hair flowed in the sea, as the girl swam towards the other. It was surprising how quickly Calanthe could move in the water; her body shifted and took the currents like they were nothing, pushing through them. She had a solid body, as she breathed, managing to reach Runa quickly. ''Rune! Come on, you can't stay here!'' the Gerudo exclaimed, before she dove. Slipping herself under the girl, she remembered she had taken a rope from the shore; just in case, she wrapped it around Rune's waist, and then her own. Lifting herself to the surface, she found she had the other's weight on her back to a degree.
But this didn't mean that Calanthe would give up, as she began to swim, bringing the both of them back to shore, untying the rope. She didn't know why Rune was so far out, but the Gerudo felt exhausted, as she just pulled the girl close to herself for a moment, hugging her tightly. She had no idea, none at what happened, but she had been scared. Where was Ulrich? Why was Rune all the way out there in the ocean? This worried the Gerudo, as she couldn't help but feel herself shaking; not out of feeling the cold, because she was immune to it, but more so out of worry. Just what had happened?
''Rune.. talk to me please?'' she muttered to the other girl softly.

Shinzou Takai was coming back from a successful trip into the woods, up the mountain from the Outset Island village. He found the island town inviting, and there were some very unique things in that forest...plenty of animals to hunt, and not a small bit of treasure. He wouldn't have been surprised if there were people living in the forest a long time ago. But as it was, it was enough for a treasure hunter to build up funds for his next big score. He wasn't any closer to finding the Triumph Forks, but he made enough to save up, and living out on a tent kept his costs down.
Still, he made sure to come into town often, both for practical reasons like buying food, selling his treasures, and the like, but also to just chat up the people there. After some initial distrust, they warmed up to him a bit. He'd have to remember this little island, there were some really nice people here. Thinking about what new stories or fun times to be had in town always added an extra spring to his step as he descended down the mountain steps.
As he was coming into town, though, he felt an overpowering wind, and heard signs of a conflict. Ducking behind a wooden house, he tries to get his bearings, find out what's going on. Then, it seemed, just as quickly as the wind started, it ended, and he was left wondering just what had happened. Several of the houses showed signs of damage, as if swords had cut into them...but there were no real signs of a struggle, no bodies, no blood...nothing that resembled what he had seen when his old family went to work.
There was also an unusual sense in the air, but he couldn't quite place it. It was foreboding, and familiar, but nothing sprang to mind. Aside from that, it was like a ghost town...none of the townspeople were present, and that unnerved him. There was usually a lot of noise...children crying or playing, people haggling over fish or livestock, and the sound of people laughing. Without that, it felt strange and foreign, even more than it was when he first stepped foot on the island.
Wandering down to the docks, he blinks, as he sees two individual shapes in the water. They're not boats...they're people. Swimming out much farther than is recommended. "Calanthe?!" he shouts out, recognizing the browned skin of the Gerudo woman. He knew she could swim, but he didn't expect her to be one that would take quickly to water again after the events that led to her being stranded here. Thinking quickly, he unlashed his own boat from it's place, and quickly sails the boat to her position, and that of the other person. If someone is drowning, having a boat to offload the person could be the difference between life and death. He needed to know what was going on...and the two of them looked like the likeliest thing for that.
You are the reason that I breathe, the reason I still believe
Rune felt herself being pulled away. She liked the feeling. Maybe she was being pulled to Ulrich. Where was Ulrich? She sighed, wondering what this strange sensation could be until she looked up and saw red hair. She blinked once more, realizing it was Calanthe. "Calanthe? We.. we need to go save him..." She spoke to the girl and clung to her looking at the water and seeing nothing but hair. She looked over and noticed the boat next to them, and quickly grabbed the side and pulled herself in. "I need to barrow this." She commented, looking at the boy.
Yes, she was being a little demanding, but she needed to save Urlich, she couldn't do it without a boat. Looking at the two desperately, she didn't even know where to start. When she heard a growl from behind her, turning she noticed the annoying bear that Ulrich had obtained. She rolled her eyes, then realized he was in Ulrich's boat. She jumped over into it. "Or, I'll use this one..." She commented, looking at the boat then at them.
She'd need help, she knew that. She bit her lip and looked at her feet. Before taking a deep breath and bowing. "If you two wouldn't mind accompanying me on this task, I'd be forever in your debt" she spoke, back in her calm headed warrior state. She knew that this would be a heard task and needed all the help she could get.
The Gerudo was breathing; but just as she finally got the semblances of a shore, it was still deep enough to float. She just.. couldn't hold out any longer. Rune seemed to be have come back, and Calanthe's worried face was getting a lot of use; even as the girl took the side of Shizou's boat, but then the bear got her attention. The Gerudo was struggling with deep feelings. It was like.. something was trying to burst out. There was something in her chest; it hurt, and it ached. She wanted to hit something, as she herself stayed floating for a few moments; looking at the sky. The water was a good excuse you know; it was perfect to hide her tears away from everyone.
The Gerudo felt like something was tearing her from the inside out. Why did Rune care more for him.. why was .. why not.. these feelings. She could feel them pulse violently inside of herself, as she closed her eyes. She knew she would have to bury them deep within herself, as she let herself sink for a moment, going under a wave. Watching the sea of water below her, she could just feel the washing waves, dancing over her soul. She could feel the emotions that were filling her insides, making her heart and chest hurt. Curling up under the water, she let out her breath in a scream, before she broke the surface. She couldn't let those emotions bury her; she had screwed around long enough.
Her hand took the side of Shinzou's small boat, as she pulled herself out, and then let out her breath. ''Calm down Rune. Going after him immediately is just going to cause you to die.'' she said softly, as her.. well mostly naked body was now in front of the two. The girl waited until Shinzou brought the boat back to the dock, where she jumped onto it, seemingly unconcerned about her near nude state, as she wrung out her hair, and put on her clothes. Taking the ribbon she had kept safe, she walked up to the girl, and hanged her the fragment. ''This is a piece of Ulrich's shirt. Keep it; and remember what you are doing this for, and take no unnecessary risks.'' she said, her tone even. Calm.
Calanthe then took in a breath, watching Rune ask them for their help. The Gerudo just softly pulled the blonde out of the bow, and then gave her a unique smile. The only soft smile that she had ever shown, no matter how long she spent on the island. The very first one.. and it was all for Rune. ''Of course. I won't let you go alone. I just want to make sure we're all ready.. because if we go in half-cocked and without information, we'll end up like I did when we first met. I don't want that to happen.. so let's make sure we have everything, and a plan. Because first thing is first; we need information.'' she said.
Of course, this was to hide her own chaotic heart. She would have to, if only for Rune's sake. She would have to thank Shinzou later or something, but right now.. she had to focus on Rune. He would probably understand that. Or so the Gerudo hoped.

Slowly and carefully pulling both women aboard his boat, he brings the two back to the dock. He didn't want a repeat of what happened back when he first set eyes on the sleepy little island. He wanted answers, but he figured he needed to make sure they were alright from their overlong stay in the ocean water.
"Alright, first of all, you both okay? No injuries, didn't swallow seawater, none of that?" The boy asks, both to ascertain their wellbeing, and making sure they could both speak. In the pirate gang, he's seen way too many people get sick or worse from untreated exposure, he had to be sure they were alright. "Well...you certainly look fine, at least." He tosses at Calanthe, as she jumps ashore. "In more ways than one~." With that done, he folds his arms. As fun as it was needling the Gerudo lady, now wasn't the time. "Now, one of you mind explaining what happened? I come back from an expedition into the forest, and it looks like a typhoon hit the place!"
Hearing Rune's half-sputtered response makes him frown. "...My boat? You need to borrow my boat? But...but I need that!" Hearing her mention Ulrich, makes him nod, seeing as he's getting a bit closer to the truth. "What, did something happen to him? He get carried off by pirates or something? Didn't look like a struggle, though..."
As Calanthe begins to speak up, though, he gets a more accurate picture of what happened. "Something did happen to him. Shoot." He didn't know the islander boy that well, but he seemed like a nice enough sort. It was nice not being the target of all the bad jokes on the island for a change, at least. To hear something happen to the decent-enough boy wasn't good news, especially since it was obvious for all to see that Rune had nursed a crush on him.
When Rune asks for help again, Shinzou nods. "Been too long since I got myself in a good scrape anyway. And hell, it'll be nice having some company for a change! And hell, I'm pretty sure the guy owes me five rupees anyway, I can't let him welsh on a deal!"
As Calanthe makes a similar assurance, Shinzou rubs his chin. "A plan, huh? Seems like we'd need some more information before we can even think of a plan...first of all, just who the heck did this? Oh, and I shouldn't forget..." Reaching down into his boat, he pulls out a pair of cloth towels, and throws them at the women. "Dry off, and cover up. You'll both catch cold at this rate."
You are the reason that I breathe, the reason I still believe
Rune listened to Calanthe's words, and nodded she took a deep breath and let it out. She wanted to take a moment to calm down, she breathed and looked at the sky. She would need a moment. Before nodding, and listening. She brought up a good point, how was she supposed to know where in the whole sea Ulrich was taken? They had just gotten back from their adventure in Hyrule, but where in the world would he have been taken. She didn't know the islands, today she was supposed to go learn them, but now it'd be without her blonde companion.
She looked at the traveler, and realized he was probably her last hope. She sighed and nodded, taking the towel in her hands and looking down at it. and then drying off some. She looked at her two friends and wondered what to do about this. She looked at Shinzou and sighed. "He was a blond guy.. with lots of piercings and just seeing him sent shiver's up your spine like.. you KNOW he's out to hurt and has nothing else on his mind... and he was very powerful." She finished looking at her sword.
"But I can take him." She stated with a smile on her face, and then looking at the traveler. "Do you know of any more populated islands perhaps? We can go there and look for information don't you think?" She smiled and looked down at her hands. "Well.. doesn't matter we'll go from island to island no matter what."
She stepped away from them, and picked up all her things. "Better get packing! We're going to have a long adventure!" She shouted, and ran off to go and get her things. They weren't Ulrich.. but.. they were good enough.
Her heart. It was filled with it, as she just gave Rune a smile, just for her. Closing those blue eyes again, she let out another breath. She couldn't cry; she was a sinful being wasn't she? Born of a Gerudo.. what business had she to deal with these others, to even feel included? She ran from what defined her, from what made her herself, and sought to destroy it. The girl had no right to be happy, or even helpful; even the ways she was were taught to her, by the desert, by her bloodline. The intense self-loathing for her kind and herself was rising; almost like a toxic bubble. She swallowed back the knot in her throat, uncaring of her state of course.
But the male had made a sexist joke, and yet, unlike her normal self, she didn't call him out on it. She just kept going on her path, even ignored the tower, as she put on her clothes. She didn't care, she found. About herself. About him. Just Rune; and yet that had been smacked away from her. She knew there were scars on her body; scars of battle, from the rough training and punishment that her kind dealt out. She listened to the description of the one Rune had seen; her confidence was nice, but she knew also.. that it was shattered. Despite the arrogance she had held, if she could take him, Ulrich would still be here. She felt that hate bubble up inside her of again.
If she hated him, why the hell did she even try to motivate Rune to rescue him freely? The gerudo watched the other run, as she turned to the bear. Yes.. that boat would hold Rune and the bear. ''That means I'm with you.'' she said, her gaze turning to Shinzou. Crossing her arms, her eyes looked him over; indeed, he seemed like a good, capable companion, considering she had managed to hold up a lot of her own dead weight. The gerudo didn't want to admit it though, as she turned aroud. ''You'll do.'' she simply said, almost stand-offish. Perhaps if he could read body language, he would be able to tell that she was upset. That something was unsettling her.
She began to make her way out, as she turned to him. ''Get your stuff ready, I'm getting on that boat of yours. So you better make some room.'' she said plainly. Her body turned, and then her steps ran; she didn't want to go to Rune's house yet to get her things, as the tears started to fall from her eyes again. She couldn't even speak, she didn't want to, as she ran towards town, getting ready to buy what was needed, with what funds she had acquired working there. There was no way she was going to be caught off-guard; but there was also no chance that she was going to be left behind, as her blue eyes swam with the emotions she was holding back. Because all of it was clear to her.
And she hated it, she hated it so damn much, but there she was, helping. Helping.. and losing in the process.

Shinzou frowns at Rune's description. "Can't say I've ever heard of someone that sounds like that, but I figure there's a lotta different kinds of people in the big, wide ocean. I'm sure someone'll have heard of him, eh?" Realizing that she very well might not believe that to be a fact, he nods. "We'll find him, don't you worry your pretty little head about that!"
The description she gave of the mysterious kidnapper unnerved him a bit. Rune was a powerful fighter, he figures she'd give him a run for his money...in swordplay, at least. See her try and hold a bow in his hands seems less likely to him, but she was a damn sight to see with her blade. To have a warrior of that level this intimidated by someone was getting to him. "Hey now, don't be like that! You'll start getting me scared if you keep talking so big about him..."
When she starts speaking better, he laughs. "Yeah, now, see, that' better! That's what I expect from you!" When she starts asking about other islands, Shinzou scratches his chin, as if he had a beard to stroke. "Well...sure, there are a couple more. Mostly they're only like here, to be honest...a little village with about twenty to fifty different people...only thing that looks like a big populated place would be...home.
Shinzou gets a bit more measured in his speech. "Windfall is the place to go if you're looking for a lot of people, and a lot of people are what you'll need if you want to find someone, and go about doing it with a bit more consistency than you'll find shooting dice." Thinking on it, he nods his head. "You might find some luck on Dragon Roost, it's pretty populated too, and the mailmen fly around all the islands. Still, they tend to be pretty insular, don't usually take to outsiders very well on their home turf." Shinzou shrugs. "They're both pretty close together...and very far from here. You'd better get ready for a long trip if you're planning on heading there. And there'll be plenty of smaller islands along the way for us to get lucky in, eh?"
As Rune heads off to get ready, Calanthe mentions that she'll be traveling on his boat. Grinning, he nods. "Sounds like a plan to me. I figure I could have worse for traveling companions...you're strong, capable, pretty, been on a boat before, and you're quite the looker too!" Letting out another laugh, he shakes his head. "My boat can handle two people no problem, and we're all in this together, I figure.
When he finishes, he realizes that she's already ran off to the island, after Rune. "H-Hey! Wait for me!"
