Elion probably wouldn’t have called herself an adventurer – more an archeologist. A collector of the old and the odd. So naturally, she couldn’t have thought of any better place to meet the boy she was to escort than this open-air market. This was the kind of thing she lived for! If there had been time, she might have gone around looking for interesting trinkets, but sadly time was a luxury that she did not have. Typically when lovely ladies appear to you in dreams and make requests of you, you ought to do it and do it quickly. At least, that was her logic.
The boy she was looking for hadn’t been all that difficult to find. He had a very distinctive look and name to him, so she’d only asked around and had eventually been pointed in the right direction. It was funny – she was sure she had heard that name before. If she was correct – and she was almost certain that she was – then this Shinzou was now just a few paces in front of her. For a while she observed, but did not approach. During that time she made no effort to hide herself, apparently unconcerned with the fact that he might find this odd if he noticed her. A few others already had. But then, she really wasn’t all that easy to miss.
When she finished her pre-meeting assessment, the lady finally did go forward to greet him. She had to admit, she could not place exactly what about this person here was notable. There had to be something – those aforementioned lovely dream ladies very rarely did things for no reason – but as of now, she could not pick out anything truly unique or interesting. That excited her. These days there were so few mysteries. The few that there were were worth welcoming.
But one at least, was solved. The closer she got, the more she recognized him. Finally, it hit her – there was a reason that she had recognized the name. The young man had been with their group during Rune’s rescue mission not so long ago. That was hilarious – how had she missed that? And here people called her wise? At the very least, she could say that she had been in horrible pain for that entire mission. She had not been overly concerned with the names or faces of the others.
“Excuse me.” She said once she was within earshot. “Have you got any idea what time it is?"
Shinzou was having a fairly easy day. He found out that the guards of Windfall had long forgotten his childish escapades, and his name and association with the pirate band hadn't reached them. For the time being, he was a free man, able to be home without trouble. And boy, was he happy.
He had jumped around the town; why use the streets when the rooftops were so much more direct, when he saw the signs that they were having the old swap meets in the town square. He hadn't seen an honest to goodness market since he was a kid...and he hadn't been welcome in one for much longer. Still, he loved the feel of them, true and true. So many sights, sounds, smells, tastes...the same things that fueled his desire to be an adventurer.
He had hoped he could have talked to the Outset gang a bit more...he had fond memories of that little island, and they were nice people. He was glad he could have helped them out. But like it or not, Outset wasn't his home. He'd overstayed his welcome most likely. Still, if he could have a chat with Rune sometime...preferably when Ulrich wasn't around...
Shaking his head thoroughly, he laughs into the air. It was such a beautiful day! Sun was bright and birds were singing, all of that. Reaching out to a stall, he pulls out a crunchy fruit and flips a few rupees to pay for it. Things were grand, and life never felt more worth living...at least until he noticed the woman following them.
NOW life had never felt more living.
It was a very easy thing to notice...she was obviously not even trying to hide her presence. Tossing a glance over his shoulder, he grins enough for her to see. Still, she never makes a move to talk to him herself, instead asking around for the time. Shrugging, he saunters over, wide grin still on his face.
"Well now, I figure it's an hour before midday. There anything I can do for you, Miss...?"
He leaves a pause after the question, obviously asking for the lady's name. "You know, you look really familiar. It's odd...I can't imagine I could ever forget someone like you..."
Shinzou wracks his brain a bit, trying to think of where he saw her. "I don't suppose you were on any rescue missions lately, were you?"

Elion smiled when he approached, giving his answer a nod and a “yes, I probably could have figured that out all on my own, hm? Silly me”. For someone who was often praised for her intelligence, Elion often operated in the most unorthodox of ways. That was something that you could gather just from the way that she dressed. Her justification for this particular outfit was one of two things depending on the day. Sometimes she’d sit you down and explain that it was all part of some grand social experiment that she was conducting. Other times she’d shrug her shoulders and blame it on the weather.
She didn’t know what she’d do if forced to live someplace other than the Great Sea. Without the breezy seaside to cool them off, she imagined that the citizens of Hyrule and Termina literally melted when warm weather came. Perhaps she was just overly sensitive to it.
“Elion’s my name.” She said. “And you’re…Shinzou, I think.”
To be honest she was almost glad that he’d forgotten or else she’d have felt that much worse about having not recognized him in the first place. Though, in his defense, she didn’t remember having ever introduced herself. At his next question, she nodded. “How is Rune, by the way? Have you seen her at all since?” She asked. “I felt horrible just leaving once that was all finished, but…well, it couldn’t be helped.”
Shinzou grins wide, face making it turn lopsided in a way he'd been told was charming. "Aha! I knew I recognized you from somewhere! You must've been traveling on Rune's boat then. That was a fine bit of work we did, wasn't it? I'm sorry we didn't have the chance to speak sooner!"
He must have been REALLY busy afterwards if he would have let a woman like this get away from him without at least attempting to make a pass at her. Luckily, it seemed that he had an extra shot at it. "I don't suppose you're thirsty, are you? It is a hot day. There's definitely a few stalls here that sell 'em, I'd be happy to buy you a drink!"
As he spoke, he couldn't help but feel his gaze sliding downwards every so often. He was fairly annoyed at himself for it...if she got offended and left because he'd been caught ogling, he'd only have himself to blame. Then again...it's not like anyone thinking objectively could blame him. I mean, look at those clothes! He couldn't help but believe that someone who was wearing that probably wanted to be looked at....at least, that's what he hoped.
When she introduces herself, his grin widens. "Elion, huh? That's a lovely name, glad to meetcha!" When she says his name, he laughs. "Guess you must've picked it up from Rune. Yup, that's my name, glad to see it's preceded me."
When she brings up Rune, he frowns slightly. Not that he particularly minded the shift in conversation, just that it was something that he had already been mulling over. "Nope. Haven't seen her or her islander friends since we got back to Windfall..I heard she picked up and left pretty early. Don't suppose they really had any reason to stay, but I'd have hoped we could've held a party or something!"
When Elion voices concern, he laughs it off. "Nah, nah, they'll be fine. I wouldn't feel bad about it. They probably wanted to get home as soon as possible, the island they live on is a paradise! Can't imagine they'd want to be away for long."
Taking the initiative, he provides a path to turn the conversation. "Well now, I'm certainly happy to talk about our little adventure as long as you want, but you could find a fair few of the others around town. Is there anything you think I can help with?" Hopefully, she'll take him up on the offer of the drink, but if she doesn't, Shinzou is ready for it.
