The forest. A dark, dark place; Outset island was pretty bright, but this forest? It was like darkness had taken a hold of it. Separated from the island, it had a single bridge connecting to it. Deep in that forest, there were rumours of treasure; even she had heard them. What? People sought treasures in her home? It was her things then, that they sought. She cared not for the people that came in here; food was abundant, but the people.. they vanished. It did not matter to the creature, as her naked steps slithered in the dark green foliage. This was her home; the environment she lived in. There was nobody that could taint, or soil the beautiful places that only she could see.
Yet, there was always someone that sought to penetrate the forest and it's dark secrets. She had heard them, bravely quoting things; she had heard them, screaming for help. And she found food then, after they stopped screaming; she often wondered where they went, and why they left such abundant food. It was a sort of innocent terror that filled them sometimes; caught in the vines when trespassing, people became food.. and she knew none of what she was doing, other then when they stopped moving, there was food in their place. The girl stopped, her hair fluttering; behind her, the luminescent wings of fungi and vines, slithering and slipped as the vine like tentacles ran across the ground. Oh? Was there something there, waiting?
The girl moved, letting her body slip. Before her? A minor being, a small mouse. The girl slipped, her hand gripping around it's body, crushing the animal in her grip. A near maniacal smile touched her lips, as she saw no longer the living thing; but the corpse that had become food, as she put it in her mouth. Consuming the creature, she felt her wings, and body tremble. But the peace of things, was not to last long. A sudden noise blasted through the forest; the noise of a plant she had left near the entrance, that spoke on a level only a fellow plant would understand. Slipping, her body changed it's course, going to her home, which was at the end of a small path.
She slipped into her home, breathing out, as she retreated the lumps of plants within her flesh; letting out a soft noise, she cried out. It was painful, to restrict herself to this, as she shivered, her mouth moving. But the food earlier had given her strength, as she slipped on a white dress. She bothered not with shoes or other things; letting her long green hair fall to her sides, she stepped out, the home hidden in the gnarled, dying tree trunk. The tree itself was quite big, enough to comfortably fit her; her light weight prevented it from crumbling, and the plants she had tied into it's support system gave her a stable home. She felt.. safe here. But someone, someone was approaching, as she watched them, sitting on a branch from the tree. The path led them here.
Where the guardian of this forest all greeted them, one by one. And thus.. this one would be greeted as well, as she let out a small laugh, almost eerie. ''Welcome in this forest, adventurer. What doth you seek, in mine woods?'' she said, her words a bit.. strange. But yet, not incomprehensible. And thus, she waited for the answer of the one that stumbled upon her.

Shinzou thought he knew these woods. He'd been inside several times before, both to take game and for simple exploration. He might never have gone quite this deep before, but he saw some unusual rubble...things that looked like they belonged to people. Perhaps some kind of ruin lay inside the ancient woods? Or maybe there was a village of people living in, to this day! Either way, quite the discovery for a seasoned...or not so seasoned...adventurer.
Keeping to the trees, Shinzou kept an arrow notched to his bow. These woods were tricksome, and could easily hold some wild predator. He had a nasty run-in with a wolf not too long ago...the teeth made a pretty nice necklace, rivaling those that were made out of shark teeth, with the added novelty of a land predator. Still, he wasn't going to deny it had almost been his life, and it was only a lucky swing of his sword that weakened it's bite.
His senses were on high alert, he heard damn near everything in the forest. Which made the sudden appearance of a woman's voice next to him a shocking surprise. "Ahh!" he cries in surprise, and forces his bow down. Last thing he wanted was an accident with a fellow hunter or explorer. "Careful there, yeah? Almost shot an arrow in you!"
As he turns to look at the newfound company, he tilts his head in confusion. "Well hey, you're not dressed for the role! Who walks all the way out to the woods without shoes on? That's just silly." Considering that for a moment, realization comes to him. "Wait...did you just say 'your woods?' You live here?" Suddenly growing excited, he looks over at her, eager to learn more. "Where do you live! I've gotta see it! Hot dog, all the villagers outside will go nuts when they find out!"
Strange. That's what this person was. A stranger. Someone that is strange. Unusual. Most screamed in fear, most were in terror. But of all, few showed excitement; some were weary, cautious. Of course.. this one had been here before. This made the girl smile; she had seen this one at a distance, even letting the wolf test itself against the male. Her fingers tapped on the dead tree, letting out a soft giggle. ''Home is gazed on.'' she said simply; yes, indeed. By looking at her, nice and cosy on the dead branch, he'd come to realize what she'd said; her home was right there, right in front of him. The dead, gnarled tree, seemingly rotting, but held up by the Deku's magic and plant mastery.
But what the male didn't realize, perhaps, is that they did indeed know her. ''I am already known. The haunting of the forest is my own; I am the depths and the creature that lies within it. The master and the one that lives; I breathe here.'' she added, as she slipped off the branch, landing squarely on the ground, much like a child would. Indeed, for she was a halfing; one of a Kokiri nature, an outcast, an abomination. She was a creature that should not exist, as her body moved towards the male, smiling a little more. If one paid attention to any detail, then let him heed this; the teeth of the girl were slightly sharper then most humans. Hell, they were sharper then even some meat eaters; but it didn't really show, since it was a closed mouth smile. If she separated her teeth visibly? One could understand then.
The girl laughed, as she looked at the male, tilting her head. ''You venture more, and more; last time it was almost life itself that was the cost. What is it that you seek, in my forest, adventurer?'' she decided to ask him plainly. If she didn't like his answer, she would tell him to leave; if he did not want to, she would fight, and bind him. He would scream like the rest, and then go lump, leaving food behind like all of them. That was the nature of the forest, an almost ravenous beast.
And she the most hungry. But perhaps he would ask something interesting; there were parts of the woods not even she had dared to venture to. But she almost yearned to go there; perhaps, he would want to come with her, in the darkness even she dared not reach? Ah.. that was an interesting idea. None of them had asked before. Would he ask? Would he dare? The nymph waited for the male's answer, her luminous green eyes watching every single movement he made, like a predator watching their prey. For she would leap if needed; she would devour the food left behind, regardless. And thus, perhaps, she knew that in a way, he would become food.. or perhaps provide her enough. But what did she know?
She was a child, and a child was curious. And that's why she wanted to know, what he sought here, what treasures that he heard of. Indeed.. for once known, she herself, could partake in the curious mystery, and perhaps find something just as interesting.

Shinzou looks at the girl strangely, as she expounds to him in a very cryptic manner. It doesn't quite connect that the girl in front of him is the mysterious creature within the forest that has all the townspeople in a hushed silence. It doesn't, at least, until she decides to spell it out completely for him. When she does, his eyes widen.
"You're...that mysterious thing?" Shinzou says, somewhat disbelieving. When she shows off some more of her abilities, Shinzou bursts out laughing. "You are, aren't you? That's awesome, way to be!" Giddy, the youthful ex-pirate moves up to her and squats down to match her height, heedless of things like personal space and self-preservation. "What kinda tricks do you do that get them so scared? Do you actually kill them? You gotta tell me, I've gotta know!"
When she asks him why he keeps coming back, he shrugs. "Heh, that wolf didn't scare me too bad. It was my fault for letting him get the drop on me! If I was the one making the ambush, or if I saw him coming better, he wouldn't have gotten as close as he did." Realizing that that didn't really answer her question, he laughs. "Why does anyone explore things? I want to know! Everyone's so scared of the place, they won't even bring an axe to the outer trees, let alone get a good eyeful of what's inside! From what the locals tell me, their houses are all made of driftwood! There's got to be a ton of things left to be discovered in here, and if you'll oblige me, I'd like to find out myself!"
Grinning toothily, he flips a coin. "Of course, if I find something shiny or neat, I might just take it, if that's alright, of course. If you want to keep some of the things, that's fine, but I don't think it's quite fair to try and hold everything that happens to lie in the forest. Be a bit better to share the wealth a little, I've got to eat too, don't I?"
Shrugging once more, he stands back up. "'Course, if you'd prefer I didn't, I figure I'm not the type to hang around where I'm not wanted. I wouldn't want to end up another lost soul, now, would I?" He lets out a laugh. "I have to say, I didn't expect the mysterious beast of the forest to be so communicative. And I thought even less that she'd be cute!"
