Zeek had the pleasure of meeting quite a variety of people in his line of work, and needless the say his current companion was quite strange. A blond hylian girl named Scarlet, who was probably the same age as Zeek, was in his company. Normally Zeek tried to solve all his contracts by him self, aside form that one ordeal in Kakariko Village a few years back where he was clearly in over his head. It wasn't that the mercenary wasn't greatful for support, it was just such support always had a price. However, this time there was nothing that gave Zeek the feeling that he was in over his head. The girl just forced her self along, didn't demand a share of the payout or anything. For Ezekial this was just plain down right strange. No one did work, even if it was good of heart, with out some kind of reward. At least that was how things were up until now. While there were several options bustling around in the mind of Ezekial he was far more focused on navigating the blinding desert that he was one of the last places he wanted to be. Aside from a general dislike of blinding sand, scorching heat, and all the other fun ordeals that came with traversing a desert there was something much more formidable: Gerudo. This race of almost all females were formidable warriors, which was something Zeek respected; but this same race did not tolerate outsiders crossing in to their domain, and given the description that the two parents gave it was more than likely their kid was locked up in one of the near by camps that was away from the main fortress. Sure it was much better than having to break in to the actual fortress but the Gerudo were not stupid. Their camps were more like outposts if anything. Using what information the parents could provide Zeek had cross referenced maps with what known information had existed, which led him to where he and the young hylian girl currently were.
Even through the sand storm there was just enough visibility to make out a small compound. If this cursed sand storm had any good it was that they would be able to get nearly on top of the compound with out the risk of being seen, although things would be vastly different on the other side of the wall. "Let's try to keep this quiet and keep fighting to a minimum." Zeek told Scarlet as he stood back up from taking a knee. Last thing Zeek wanted was to get caught by them. "Ready?"

Walking next to her companion, Scarlett hummed to herself, thinking about many different things. Normally she'd be blabbing on and on about whatever she felt like talking about, and most of the journey she in fact was. She would talk about everything, her squire Levi, her life on Skyloft, and she often had questions about Hyrule. And to Scarlett's liking he answered her the best he could. Sure, she learned back in school about the surface but it was certainty a lot bigger then she imagined. It went as long as the sky did when she flew.
Speaking of flying, Sailor was flying way above them, making sure to keep an eye on both of them. She felt him, making sure he was always near, or else she'd get way to nervous. Sailor, like any Skyloftian and their loftwing, is to her as a son is to a mother and Scarlett loves him more then anyone.
Still, eventually even Scarlett had to run out of things to talk about and just kind of started humming. Silence bothered her to much, it was dull and she wasn't able to do it without getting frigidity or nervous. Still, Zeek didn't seem to mind to much, or if he did he didn't directly ask her to shut it.
Finally, reaching wall Scarlett looked at the height of it. Just like the mountains, it was huge and it got her nervous. Sure, she flew higher then that, but you never really got anything big like that in Skyloft, and she may be stupid for it but it made her nervous.
"Sure thing." She said, his voice snapping her out of her brief distraction. Sneaking was actually something Scarlett was pretty good at. And she was ready for this.
That is all Zeek needed to hear. Breaking out in a near sprint Zeek across the sand he closed the distance between them an the wall stopping an arms length and a half away. Ezekial pretty much switched gears in his mind and his body slowly started acquiring that acute focus he got when he was on jobs or was in a fight. He understood it was a human's natural reaction and that they were limited mostly by their own mind but with enough practice, or do or die situations, one could learn to channel and focus more when their body went in to that state. For Zeek it served more as a unique high that he partly craved.
Pulling out the hookshot he had purchased a while back he turned around to wait for the chatterbox of a companion he had. He couldn't deny the Hylian's curiosity but he found it odd that she knew so little about her races origins. Then again Zeek didn't know much about his own so it wasn't like he had room to talk. When she arrived Zeek turned around and aimed the grapple hook towards the top of the wall. "I'll go check it out. I'll drop it down to you if its clear." Zeek told Scarlet informing her of his plan. Squeezing the trigger the device let out a distinguishable metal clank as the device shot towards the upper reaches of the wall. As the tip of the hookshot lodged its self in to the wall Zeek gave it two tugs before letting it pull him up to the wall.
As the hookshot finished up reeling the chain in and pulling Zeek up he stopped placing his feet against the wall. Shifting the grapple hook over to his left hand the mercenary placed his free hand on the out cropping of the wall and pulled his body over cautiously. Slowly peering left to right he looked for any on coming patrols to which lady luck smiled upon him and granted him none. Re positioning his hand to get a firm grip he swung his right foot over the wall before releasing the hookshot from the wall. Pulling his body over the wall he looked for any Gerudo one last time before leading over the edge and dropping the grapple hook device.
From across the way on another wall there was a weapon bobbing up and down and it was slowly making its way towards them...
Live life like it's your first time ever truly living
Scarlett, pouted as the man rushed ahead of her, and quickly rand up next to him. Rushing ahead was her job, jerk. She giggled a little, as they reached the wall. He used his hookshot, and Scarlett anxiously waited for him to drop it down. She caught it quickly. Looking at it for a moment, normally she'd just fly but right now stealth was needed and a giant flying bird was probably not the way to go about that. So she messed with it a bit, until it hit a rock making a loud 'CHING' Scarlett blushed, embarrassed from the noise. Finally she pointed it up next to where Zeek was and was shot up.
The speed blew Scarlett away and she quickly handed it back to Zeek, not liking the device at all. She prefered flying to that, she didn't know why it was just a new feeling to her. She looked out into the small Gerudo fortess and grew a little nervous, but mostly excited. She was doing something heroic with her life, and that was more exciting then ever.
She looked over at Zeek and whispered. "So.. what now?" She asked, waiting for his go ahead.
It took his companion a few extra seconds to figure out how the hookshot worked, thankfully she didn't poke her eye out with it or something similar to that regard. After a safe misfire at a near by rock Scarlet aimed the device up towards the wall and was brought up. When she got her bearings on the wall she quickly handed the hookshot back to him as if she didn't want anything more to do with the device. Zeek couldn't see why, it was more than quite handy and really its only limits he noticed was the length of the chain. Other than that it was up to the imagination on how to use it. Attaching the hookshot to the belt that went diagonally right across his chest Zeek was ready to move as was Scarlet.
"So.. what now?" His partner inquired.
Now that they were up on the wall that was one thing out of the way. Which left finding the find where they are keeping the kid, then the cell, and finally getting out. Zeek went over his objectives in his head as he looked towards the inside of the compound for a moment surveying what he could. Its structure and placement put them at a good advantage against any sand storms the desert threw at them. The overall size however was far smaller but it was still one place Zeek didn't want to let everyone know they were there. They could take on a patrol or two at most with out drawing attention hopefully, but that was being optimistic.
"Now we just gotta find a where they keep their prisoners." The Nomad replied with hushed whispers.
Looking to his left down the perimeter of the wall Zeek noticed something he didn't want to see at all. A pole arm was moving up and down in such a rhythm that more than suggested someone was holding it. This job was already going south. What little blessing they got from the sand storm was now already wearing off. Zeek snapping his head to the right looking for an escape route only to see another weapon coming their way. Which left only one option: down the other side of the wall. At the very least there was a roof of a near by structure right below where they were.
"Change of plans! We're jumping down here!"
Moving to the edge of the wall Zeek turned and dropped his body just enough so his hands caught on to the ledge. Using the strength in his legs Zeek pushed him self off the wall going airborne for a moment before landing on the roof of a mud shack with a small roll. If they were lucky there would be no one inside the hut right now. At the rate things were going already Zeek wasn't going to put his eggs in lucks basket.
Live life like it's your first time ever truly living
Scarlett looked at him as he explained the plan. Scarlett nodded, looking over to the buildings, wondering if any of the places looked like a prison. Though, Scarlett hadn't ever really seen any buildings like theirs. Not that it mattered, as she was randomly told to jump. Blinking at him, she followed him, jumping off the wall straight onto the hut. Looking back she saw the danger, and was glad at least Zeek was paying attention.
"Oh wow." She commented, getting excited. She just narrowly escaped death! She was really excited, and looked over at Zeek with a big smile on her face. Then realized she looks kind of dorky and coughed a bit putter her super hero facade back on.
Looking back around, she shrugged and jumped over onto the next nearest house. "I guess we'll just start running until we find it huh?" She shouted back, and then began running a bit more, hoping that maybe things would get easier on them.
Zeek kept a careful eye up on the wall as Scarlet landed on the roof. Hopefully their was no one inside; there was no way anyone inside could not hear their landing. Well Zeek wasn't planning on hanging around to find that particular answer out. When Scarlet recovered fully from the jump she uttered "Oh wow." Which was more than likely in awe of how much by the skin of their teeth they made it away from that one however there was one out of place trait on her face, a great big grin. Zeek was far from knowing the woman enough to be able to accurately place her facial expressions to her personality but an awkward fake cough seemed to help her regain her composure. The Hylian jumped over to a near by roof taking the lead momentarily.
"I guess we'll just start running until we find it huh?" That was pretty much the universal plan B Zeek had, minus the shouting. Picking up in to a run Zeek lunched him self from when he reached the ledge of his roof over to the next one. Landing more gracefully, and with out the need to stop Zeek slowed slightly next to her and replied: "Pretty much, just hope no one sees us." Before increase his pace slightly. Jumping from one building to the next Zeek occasionally looked over his shoulder to see anything of importance but to no avail because Lady Luck had other plans for the two. As the two launched from one seemingly unimportant to the next when the two's feet hit the roof the very building started to cave in an accelerated manner. By the time they could of weighed their options the last few chunks came dislodged from the roof.
Even among the sand and dirt that was obscuring the view Zeek could see that there were four armed Gerudo below during his decent. It was indeed that Lady Luck was more than just screwing with him. She was out to get him, or Scarlet but that wouldn't matter, now they had an up hill battle.
When Zeek's chunk of roof hit the ground and began to shatter in to its tiny fragments he rolled on the ground focusing his mind to channel a spell to his left hand. The vivid magical energies radiated from his hand as he rolled off his shoulder and on to his feet and when he had a firm placement back on the ground he shot his hand forwards towards the nearest Gerudo, releasing an aggressive jet of water while his right hand snatched the hilt of his sword and brought it out in a blinding fury.
Charging forward toward the very Gerudo he just shot water magic at and deliver a swift upward diagonal strike across the chest. Keeping the momentum Zeek's eyes sought out the next target and swiftly moved his body in to position taking a sideways sash at his second target. His third target was near by the second but was just out of reach. Jumping to the side Zeek gripped his sword with both hands and swung his sword in mid air as he passed using the force from the swing to get a few extra inches of distance. Landing both feet firmly on the ground Zeek gracefully spun on his right foot as his left hand slid up to the top of the hilt and brought the weapon crashing down on the Gerudo that was dazed behind him.

Scarlett followed behind Zeek as he continuted running, she was paying close attention this time. At the buildings they where passing, and looking for Gerudo. Though, she was also watching Zeek she had to admit that he was pretty talented with this stuff. Scarlett had years of training and she was only slightly better then he was. Then they finally both landed on one of the buildings Scarlett felt the floor start to cave in, and backing away to the edge of the roof, she shouted out of fear "MOVE!"
Still, Zeek went crashing down. She sighed, upset that they couldn't avoid it, and listened to the sounds of combat and she blinked, looking down, seeing the Gerduo, and smirking. Time for her infamous sneak attack! She jumped in and quickly and stealthy while Zeek distracted them, got each and every Gerudo once before she was noticed, actually finishing off one of the weaker Gerudo. Backing up a little she looked around, before seeing that she was noticed by one of the stronger ones and they quickly came to attack her and Scarlett quickly countered her with her sword and finished that one off also.
Next thing she knew she was next to Zeek again, and laughed a little "Well, so much for stealth huh?" She asked, watching carefully for another attack on her. She didn't know why, but she was really really worried about what Zeek thought of her. She had to be sure to look good for him. Flipping her hair back, she hoped that maybe she was impressing the man. Which, was really strange for her. Normally she didn't care about those types of things, but for Zeek. She wanted him to like her. How weird.
Used Technique to do On each enemy. Finishing off Gerudo Pirate A. Gerduo Pirate B, attacks Scar but she counter acts it and defetes the enemey swiftly.
Despite being in the company of bad luck Zeek's companion was certainly making up for it. As the disorientation from the roof collapsing in started to fade Scarlet had made her way on to the ground and started attacking the other Gerudo her self.
Before their targets fully regained their composure Scarlet managed to defeat two of them. As their bodies collapsed on to the floor Zeek cautiously stepped over towards the center of the room keeping is sword angled so the blade was across his chest ready to block an attack.
"Well, so much for stealth huh?" Scarlet's comment was more than evident that stealth was thrown out the window at the moment, but if they were quick enough maybe they could salvage it.
"Lets keep it together and maybe we can salvage the chaos this could cause." The Nomad replied taking a firm posture as the effect of the roof finally wore off and their opponents bearings were back on track but they were still struggling from the pair's attacks.
The counter attack Zeek was expecting was taking longer than he expected, but he didn't see the other remaining Gerudo. They were probably waiting for a flank or to try to take them on both at the same time to bide time for more reinforcements to come. They'd need to wrap this up quickly.
A few more seconds in dead silence only the sound of a few foot hitting the ground in a rapid fashion would kill the still air as the Gerudo both charged in unison towards the two. Zeek paid attention to two particular details about his assailant: placement of the weapon, and their hips. One would tell him the most likely form they would use to strike the second would tell him which way they were planning on going. All Zeek had to do was match and block.
Alright, she's gonna break left. High sword stance. Possibility of a slash or high stab... Now. With one fluid movement Zeek stepped inward twisting his wrist slightly so the flat portion of his blade was facing upward, and brought it up slightly blocking the descent of a accelerating scimitar. The distinctive clang of metal echoed as the blades made contact and the face of his attacker shifted to anger. Putting the palm of his left hand on the back of the blade Zeek carefully pushed upward with his legs and forward with his hands to throw the Gerudo and her weapon off balance. Zeek brought the blade down with the intent to seize an opening that would not present its self. -------------------------------------------- Zeek blocked an attack from Gerudo Pirate C
Live life like it's your first time ever truly living
Scarlett shrugged at his response watching him fight, and blushing a little, he could be impressive every now and again.. she rolled her eyes a little to herself. Even if he was a dumb mercenary, distracted by watching him fight. Scarlett forgot there where two Gerudo's and was quickly attacked by other one, making her fall over and then quickly turn and slash at the Gerudo pirate.
The pirate fell, and Scarlett blushed, feeling extremely stupid for letting Zeek distract her like he did. She looked around to be sure there where no more, and then looked at him fighting with the last one. She'd get to watch this time due to the fact he could probably take care of this one. At least, if was going to try impress her anymore. Or she wanted to at least tell herself that he was trying to impress her, just as she was for him.
Took a hit from Gerudo Pirate D, but counter attacked and struck back
Alright... Time to step this up Zeek though at the lack of an opportunity to strike and end the battle. As the Gerudo recovered and adopted a more defensive stance. Zeek would have to create the opportunity him self. Lunging forward he raised is sword arm skyword and brought his sword down violently to have it blocked by the prepared Gerudo. Forcing his arm downward more the mercenary's blade scrapped down sending sparks out from the sides of their weapons. As the Gerudo lunged back freeing her self form the dead lock Zeek followed through leaving an intentional opening in his follow through. Releasing his grip on the sword if fell only momentarily before being snatched up by his hand again, except this time in a reversed grip with the hilt towards the Gerudo. Closing the distance again Zeek rammed the hilt of his sword in to the stomach of the Gerudo. An expression of pain and shock took over the females face as her body crunched forward from the pain but Ezekial wasn't done. Moving the hilt slight back his wrist turned and with a step sideways he brought his sword arm across the abdomen. Taking a half step froward as the tip cleared the Gerudo's body he delivered the final strike in to the back below the ribs on the Gerudo's left side in one quick movement. Removing his blade he slid it back in to its sceath in one fluid movement.
"And that's that." Zeek half said aloud after letting out a short breath. "Come on, let's get out of here before more of them show up!" Zeek started moving towards the wall with the intent of climbing over it and getting out of sight before more Gerudo guards showed up. At least that was the idea.
Within Zeek taking three steps The room was flooded with Gerudo guards. "Ok, I take that back." He uttered defeated by his recent run of luck. Cautiouly moving back towards Scarlet he started analyzing their situation.
So much for getting the kid out in a timely fashion. Now they would be prisoners and would have to find a way to escape them selves. However their guards were acting slower than usual. As their wounded were being dragged out one Gerudo stepped through the mass. Just by sheer appearance she was far more formidable looking than those around her. She carried a scimitar in each hand. "Draw your weapons." Was all the formidable Gerudo said as she readied or self.
This couldn't be too hard. It was more than apparent they she wanted to fight them. However Zeek had other plans he had no intent on fighting them fair and square. He had a feeling regardless if they did or not they were in for it.
Reaching behind him Zeek pulled his blade out and squared off with the Gerudo. As he was about to whisper to Scarlet his plan their new attacker lunged their way. Barely reacting fast enough Zeek moved out of the way, but not before getting nicked by the blade. After attacking Zeek the Gerudo bolted after Scarlet. "Well that solves the problem." Ezekial didn't feel the need to address that she was obviously a cut better than their previous opponents, as that was clearly just demonstrated. "Use what we have to our advantage!" He was hoping that the foreign Hylian would understand he was referring to the fact that it was him and her and that their best odds at winning was synchronizing their attacks to throw her off.
-------------------------------------------- Zeek Defeated Gerudo Pirate D All the Gerudo have been defeated.
Live life like it's your first time ever truly living
Scarlett watched Zeek defeat the final one "Wahoo!" She shouted, nodding and beginning to run after him, before they where swarmed and Scarlett almost felt the awkward as they looked at them. "hehe..." Looking at them she blushed and then down at the dead. "Whoops..." She muttered moving closer to Zeek, wondering what in the world that should do. When a new opponent appeared, wow ruuuude. Just asking for a fight like that? Giving them no way to escape. Darn, they where mean.
Pulling out her sword once more she took a stance watching the Gerudo, as it rushed for Zeek, Scarlett jumped out of the way, and sliced at the gerudo then jumping back. She looked at Zeek, wondering what he had just said, but the gerudo was focused on her now, and she took another swing at the woman, before rolling away, hoping Zeek had her back on this one. Which, he should. She started breathing heavier though, she was getting tired.

Either Zeek was getting lucky or Scarlet understood exactly what he had intended as the Gerudo's back was now facing him. This was exactly the opening he wanted. Drawing his blade while channeling another spell Zeek closed the gap between the Gerudo like a bird of prey swooping down on its prey. Bringing the blade down with all the force he could the Gerudo's graceful movements had placed one of her blades over he shoulder blocking the attack. The clang of metal seemed to excite the on looking Gerudo, who had formed a ring around them. They chanted in favor of their comrade.
"Gotta admit you're pretty good." Ezekial said with a near sadistic like smile as he spell was about ready and needed a few moments more.
A cautious eye glared at him staring him down as their blades were dead locked.
"But you kinda missed something." These were the final words out of Zeek for stalling. With his spell now ready he brought his left hand up as if he were to punch the woman right between the kidney and liver. Rather than complete the punch Zeek did a quick gesture triggering the spells release. The sheer force being released a such a short range overwhelmed the Gerudo and sent her stumbling back. The crowd didn't take to it to well. Changing his stance Zeek adopted a more defensive position.

Scarlett watched as Zeek hit the guard with a powerful water spell she giggled, hopping out of the way and then quickly ran over to the guard, and teased her a bit by putting her face in the guards. "You really shouldn't try and fight people you can't handel, silly~" Before taking out her sword and quickly finishing off the guard. Raising her arms in the air Scarlett shouted a big "Wahoo!" Forgetting about the crowd she ran over to Zeek with a little hop, and lifting her hand up for a high five.
"Good job!" She said with an innocent chime in her voice, obviously really pleased with the performance he did, but a chain quickly wrapped around her wrist. "H-Hey!" She looked around to see the other Gerudo that she had forgotten about she bit her lip as some more chains wrapped around her. Struggling to get out, she looked around. "G-Get off of me! Jerks!" Though she struggled and struggled they had chains around her tight.

Zeek couldn't believe Scarlet did what she just did, taunting the guards like she did but if Zeek had to give the Hylian credit for anything it was that she certainly didn't lack spirit. As she bounced over triumphantly and began to congratulate him on their job well done Zeek was far from paying attention to her. While he was deliberately ignoring her it wasn't for the sake that she was irritating him. It was just the glares from the guards on the other side of the room. He wasn't walking away easily or at all for that matter.
With that being said he too was bound in chains much like his partner which, needless to say, were not that comfortable. But if there were to be a bit of optimism found in the situation it was that they would find out if the Gerudo had the kid or not. What good that revelation would do for them was certainly debatable.
Being dragged from the rubble all the way through a maze of buildings their hosts tossed the pair in to a cell after removing the chains.
"Well...That just happened." Zeek said stretching his body out a bit taking in the new scenery. Their cell certainly unremarkable. There was a single sky light in the roof and that was the only remarkable thing about the cell. He also noticed that the kid they were looking for wasn't here. "You alright?" Zeek inquired about Scarlet's well being while taking a few steps in her direction and offering her his hand.
