C RASH! The sound of a ceramic plate shattering followed after the distinct sound of a controlled gunpowder explosion. Yet it was not a bomb that destroyed the target---rather it was the resounding impact of progress and the cause seemed, oddly enough, less than amused. To any other person she looked to be like a young girl, yet she also possessed airs of a mature soul. Her movements were elegant and practiced. Her eyes lacked the glow of childhood nativity. Her expression was passive---almost weary looking; a face that belonged to one whom had seen and experienced many things. At the moment, however, its current experience seemed to have the most profound affect on her visage. "...Too weak.", she murmured," It would be difficult to kill someone with this." As she murmured she aimed a rather impressively decorated golden double-barreled wheel-lock pistol toward her next target. She'd been at the shooting range simply exercising her aim, since she'd done all of her chores and saw to her master's well being to the fullest of her ability. Well that and he wanted 'space' from her apparently... The thought of it seemed to miff her instantly. A click of her tongue brought on another angry 'POW!' of progress---leading right to a vicios bulls-eye that destroyed two flying plates in the air. After taking a split second to survey her shot, she quickly went on to reload her gun, as if it were just as much a skill to perfect as her ability to aim. One might have the chilling thought that... perhaps there was a face to her targets this night. POW!

Golan was rather confused by the goings on lately. He'd heard absoluteliy dreadful things had happened in Hyrule as of late, which was something he would look in...once it was safer. Call him a coward, but he felt there wasn't enough rush to find out the goings on that it was worth risking his precious cargo. Still...to be in the center of history as it was unfolding...a part of that was very hard to resist to him. As that conflict had not extended to this land, he would have to go out of his way, put himself into danger when it was unnecessary. Rather similar to his choice to embark on this quest in the first place.
However he was shocked out of this reverie by a large crack in the sky, something like a bomb. "Yikes! What was that!?" He calls out to no one in particular, and takes cover behind a moderately sized rock. Almost immediately, though, he peeks around the corner of his rock, scanning the ground for the source. However, there was no obvious sign of an explosion...however, soon enough he hears another loud pop, and ducks back behind the rock instinctively. It was strange, he heard what direction the explosive sound came from, but there was nothing to see in that direction, besides a small girl, holding a strange golden cylinder.
"Is she the source of it?" He asks himself, before scurrying over to her. In this instance at least, curiosity is getting the better of caution. He makes several laughably bad attempts at hiding himself as he gets closer, but she doesn't seem to be looking in his direction in the first place. Whether detected or undetected, he manages to get in close just in time to have his ears ring as another shot was fired. Clutching his head, he sways back and forth. "Owww...."
Eventually righting himself, Golan mumbles to himself. "Well...well that was something." Turning to the girl, he taps her on the shoulder. "Uhh...what's that? It sounds like there's a bomb going off in it! I've never seen anything like it before."

A
rare occurrence : the fairy was caught off guard and thus jumped slightly at the unexpected interaction. Her head turned and her gun arm yanked upward so that the barrels would be aimed straight up at the sky. Had she wanted...she could have just as easily swung downward to bash the unidentified man with one good downward swing---but she quickly understood that there was no need for such violence. "...Well yes.", she finally replied--momentarily caught awkward by the appearance and curiosity of her new company. " ...", with hesitation she shifted her position to increase the space between them. She held her pistol ready like she'd turn it on him for the slightest of excuses...but her expression was not only calm, but without any air of hostility. It seemed she'd be okay if she weren't provoked. After a quick glance over the man before her she eventually spoke, having decided that this man would be her distraction from prior thoughts... " It is called a pistol. More specifically mine is a variation on its concept...They're not common at all. So I imagine it's none too surprising that this would be your first sight of one." While speaking her mind quickly took inventory of his appearance. He certainly was neither a human or a hylian. Yet his physical features suggest that his heritage was not far from their nature despite the drastic differences in his physiology. Her mind wandered on the fact... She had an idea of what he was, but for it to be the truth would be beyond interesting---perhaps even a little concerning. "...You don't appear to be too common either." | |

Seeing her move away from him, Golan shrugs and sits on the ground, nursing his head from the close-proximity gunshot blast noise. When she seems willing to talk to her despite the surprise of his entry, he brightens. "A pistol, huh? Never saw one of those back home. I don't suppose you could explain a bit more about it...I've never heard anything like that, short of a bomb or a firecracker. And it really doesn't look like either of those."
Taking out a notebook and paper, he begins scribbling out what he's learned so far. "You seem kind of short. And you look kind of strange. You're not hylian or human are you?" After saying that, he smacks his face. "Then again, I don't either, do I? Ehh, it's how it goes. If you're curious, I guess I can explain."
When she responds in the assent, Golan shrugs. "Well, I thought it might not be a good idea, but I was never told not to say. I'm Twili, from the other side of the Gate. But enough about me, I haven't seen anyone quite like you yet! I need to find out all I can, about what's happened!"
With that said, he takes out a book from his bag and tries to find a matching description. "Hmm...not enough fins to be a Zora, too large to be a fairy, at least of the common variety, no rocky exterior...this is tough. Maybe you're something new?"
