As upset as Laurel had been these last few weeks, she could at least find it in her to fight when necessary. Even as she doubted her own abilities, she did not doubt those of her allies. The grounds were absolutely overrun with monsters. That was to be expected, but it didn’t make it any easier to deal with. Laurel bit her lip – something she tended to do when she was either nervous or plotting something – and went over the situation in her mind. They were a strong group, no doubt, but they couldn’t take all of those beasts. Still, they needed to find a way into the castle. Suddenly, she had an idea.
“Follow me.” She said, turning to the three others behind her. She crept as slowly and quietly as possible toward the tower that was positioned just in front of the castle. It was, like the castle itself, surrounded by creatures that had for the most part conjugated on the roof. So far, it seemed that they hadn’t noticed the trespassers. Good. A little ways in front of the tower, there was an irregular circle of grass. Laurel walked until she reached it with the others in tow, crouched down in front of it, and lifted it up. It wasn’t grass at all – it was the hidden entrance to some kind of chute.
She and her sisters had discovered it as children. Once they’d jumped down it and gotten stuck in the caverns below. She might have smiled at the memory had she not been so preoccupied right now. Back then, they hadn’t known where it led. They’d walked and walked hoping to reach a way out, and eventually it had led them to a door positioned right at the back of the castle. That would do nicely for their purposes. “There’s a series of tunnels just underneath here. If we follow them, they’ll lead us right past those monsters. We’ll likely be safe down there – no one’s used these in years. It’s not as long a fall as it looks like. Just jump when you’re up to it – but, erm…quickly.” She explained.
And then she jumped. It was sort of impossible to land gracefully from that height, and so she did stumble when she hit the ground, but…that was the least of their worries. The tunnels, which she had assumed would be empty, were now home to several Mummies and Moblins. Still far, far less than what was outside, but that didn’t make them any less menacing.
“…We may have some company after all!” She shouted, drawing her sword. “Keep your wits about you!”
With that she charged forward, slashing at the first of the Moblins with her blade.

Kairi couldn't believe how bad it was. Well, she had heard it was bad but she really wasn't sure how bad and it was, she looked up at all the monsters she saw. Wow, it was really a lot worse then she expected, she looked over at the princess. Most of the people had been showing the princess amazing respect, and it wasn't that Kairi didn't respect how strong she was. But the princess was just a person to her, no god, no amazing person that was above her. So Kairi treated her just as if she was another person rather then a princess, and had been getting a lot of crap for it ever since she got here.
So Kairi was surprised when she was assigned to be a part of the princess' group. She honestly wasn't sure why, but no matter what she would follow the princess into battle, what she said she went.. unless it was really stupid. Like jumping down that hole. She stared at it, but the princess jumped in. Kairi took the safer route, and went into a her fairy form and flew down right behind the princess.
Then noticed the moblin that the princess went after, and how another went right after her. Using her Ball of Fire ability, Kairi attacked the second Moblin taking away some health, and it caught on fire. Kairi backed up and placed her hands on her hips in satisfaction, looking back for the other two in their party.
Kairi did 34/ths of a heart to Moblin 2 using ball of fire, it also now has the burn due to let it burn, having an extra half a heart get taken, leaving it with. only 1 3/4ths a heart
"Tunnels under the castle... Why am I not surprised?" Allevy muttered to himself. He had never actually gone to the castle before aside from being jailed once or twice, and those times he wasn't actually allowed to wonder around the castle, though that probably would have been a bad idea anyways. It wasn't much better now though, the castle was absolutely teeming with monsters. Even if he could normally move undetected through most places in Castle Town, calling this a stretch would have been a sore understatement.
Well, at least the location suited him fine though. Allevy did his best work in the darkness after all, and something in his blood made him feel right at home. He leaped down the hole, landing without a single noise despite the large amount of equipment on him, though that proved to be futile. "So much for that." He stated simply before rushing forwards at the unoccupied Moblin. It reared back its spear, ready to smack him while he was still out of range, however Allevy produced a small orb from his sleeve, though what it was exactly was obscured by the darkness. He threw it at the Moblin, who smacked it out of the way using the butt of his spear, however upon contact it emitted a blinding flash, stunning the Moblin momentarily.
While it was blinded, Allevy reached over his shoulder and drew Guilty Thorn then slashed across the Moblin's body for Critical damage while it was blinded. Though it didn't completely finish it, the damage from his slash was apparent.

The town really had gone to hell. If Nyles was a lesser man this might have shaken him out of assisting the princess with her raid on the castle. He had seen his own personal hell. This didn't affect him quite as bad. He hadn't seen much of Castle Town before it was turned into its current infested state. While seeing the monsters run about and some of the dead rise, it wasn't quite the same as watching your brothers-at-arms die.
He looked beyond the young man with the purple hair and the young fairy girl with a fiery personality. He could see Laurel's back. He sighed softly as he watched her move forward with purpose. This had to be a hell all its own for her. This was her home. She may recognize some of these people they find dead on the ground. He wouldn't wish this on anyone.
The hero of this land that he doesn't really know pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind. The young man ahead of him was Allevy. He had gotten a brief chance to meet him along with Jacob and Raeid. They four were the heroes of this land. It seemed right that they had come along on this dangerous mission. The other young lady, Kairi, was a fairy. He wasn't particularly familiar with their kind, but she was a pleasant lady. Her command over fire was awe-inspiring. He couldn't quite place it, but he got a feeling that they were connected beyond this mission.
Their dash across the lawn near the Hyrule Castle prevented him from focusing any further on these thoughts. Laurel stopped in front of an odd patch of grass. It wasn't something he would pay any mind to until Laurel lifted it to reveal a secret tunnel down below.
“There’s a series of tunnels just underneath here. If we follow them, they’ll lead us right past those monsters. We’ll likely be safe down there – no one’s used these in years. It’s not as long a fall as it looks like. Just jump when you’re up to it – but, erm…quickly.”
"Wait what do you mea-" She slipped into the hole and fell before he could finish.
Nyles looked at his companions with hope that they would have a better idea of how to get down. Kairi turned into a small ball of light and flew down. Allevy wasted no time leaping down into the hole. Nyles sighed, putting on his BigGoron Mitts.
He eased himself into the hole. His body weight was easy to hold up as he dipped inside. He pressed himself near the entrance of the shaft and pulled the passage shut. He didn't want any more pesky creatures chasing them inside if they left it open. He slid down slowly with the support of his strength-imbuing gloves. When he reached the bottom, falling the final part with a thud, he looked around the room seeing his allies already in the midst of combat.
He cringed when he saw the two mummified forms of the gibdos. He would rather fight those creatures from a distance. He maneuvered to stay clear of the two while moving forward. He looked over his allies and their personal battles. Kairi was blasting one of the Moblins with fire while Allevy was strategically incapacitating another. Laurel had charged forward and attacked one of the spear-wielding Moblins who was now coming back for another attack.
Nyles charged forward, slipping around Laurel, and with time-tested skill evaded the spear to deliver a powerful shield bash to the Moblin's chest. He followed up with a downward slash from his sword across its chest. He hopped back next to Laurel.
"You looked lonely fighting on your own. Let's make these monsters regret the day they cross blades with the Hylian Heir!" He spoke with a charisma he only had while in the midst of battle. His shield faced forward with his sword held high and pointed at the enemy.
Laurel wasn’t sure what to make of it, but she was in higher spirits now. It seemed somewhat counter intuitive. Back at the camp she couldn’t even manage to muster up the willpower to eat properly, but now...well, she almost felt better. Almost. Maybe it was the adrenaline. While part of her was absolutely mortified at having this place desecrated by beasts, the other part couldn’t see the beasts at all. In her mind she was thirteen again, playing with her makeshift sword, imagining the way she’d singlehandedly defend the castle should something truly horrible happen to it. And then afterward her mother and father would thank her, and Iris would be so proud, and Ashton – oh well, if she knew Ashton then she would of course have been right there on the battlefield beside her. So perhaps she wouldn’t save the kingdom singlehandedly. She’d have a partner, at least.
These daydreams, miraculously enough, seemed to help more than they hurt. They provided the wall she needed to block out the harsher realities of this situation. She did indeed know the former occupants of most of the bodies that now littered the castle grounds. The only good part of being down here now, caged in with several other monsters, was that none of those bodies had managed to make their way into these caverns. Laurel was, at this moment, far too crippled by self-doubt to have been able to take this battle for everything that it was – but mind over matter.
Mind over matter! She said it again and again to herself until the monsters seemed to fade away before her eyes, replaced by practice dummies – and in some cases Ashton, the most wonderful of all sparring partners. She moved quicker and easier with this illusion in place. So much so, in fact, that she managed to slash at the Moblin one more time before it raised its spear to cut her down…
…And was stopped just before it might have hit her by someone she initially mistook for her father.
The illusion faded all at once, and there was Nyles. She was not any less happy to see him than she might have been if it really had been Tion. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter who swoops in to block a blow for you just so long as they so. She laughed for the first time in months when he spoke, offering up a quick “thank you” and going in for a more successful strike. This one landed.

“Keep at it!” She shouted back at the group, surprising herself with her own assertiveness. “They’re weak – we have this!”
These comrades of hers were better warriors than she could ever dream of being. Maybe it was them, she thought, that gave her this new strength.

Kairi was glad to see her party wasn't TOTALLY usless, she watched the others attack their enemies, smiling happily. Pleased, she dodged an attack from the annoying little pests, and skipped to the two gibdos, deciding they could use a little fire in their lives and used her fire ball attack on both of them, backing up and watching the two catch on fire and giggled, amused.
Yeah that was right no one messed with her and her country, she WAS the coolest little fairy around after all. She made sure to fly high and watch the others, making sure everyone was okay and doing fine.
Kairi did 3/4ths of a heart to both Gibdo 1 and Gibdo 2, catching them both on fire and they lose an extra 1/2 heart. Moblin 2 is still on fire and burning making it lose another 1/2 a heart
The battle had quickly heated with every one of the party's members having decided on their opponent. Princess Laurel had picked one of the other Moblins with Nyles backing her up. It looked like they definitely had the upper hand and would soon finish it off. The Fairy engaged the remaining Moblin before moving onto the Gibdos. Deciding it would be more efficient to wipe out the Moblin she had already damaged, Allevy's focus went back to the monster in front of him.
"On any other day I might not bother..." Allevy muttered as he watched the Moblin roar in pain from his slash, staggering backwards. It reared its spear back clumsily, far to damaged to fight as skillfully as before, attempting to impale him. Allevy moved forwards and shifted to the side, dodging the spear narrowly before delivering one clean cut through the Moblin's neck, beheading it. "I'm past the mercy phase today." Allevy gave his blade a swing, shaking off whatever little blood clung onto the sword. He supposed it was meant to be a legendary blade for a reason, it was frighteningly powerful even with its size considered.
With that, Allevy drew his more familiar Folding Sword, keeping it in his other hand and began to charge at the remaining Moblin, however he suddenly head a scream towards his direction. Before he could even get a chance to turn and see what it was, he found himself frozen in place as if every single nerve in his body was paralyzed. "Shit... That was a Gibdos!" He thought to himself. This wouldn't have been too large of a deal since the Gibdos were slow moving and clumsy, however the Moblin he moved in to attack had spotted him, and seeing an opportunity, ran to attack Allevy while he was paralyzed.

Nyles smirked, as the invigorating feeling of battle flowed through him. He stepped to the side, bringing the Moblin's gaze with him and leaving it open for Laurel to swiftly slash it once more. She spoke with the confidence and valor of a leader. A great general they needed on the battlefield. He was no stranger to leading or being lead. Their cooperation would be all that he desired in this battle. With that victory would be within their grasp.
He stepped around Laurel to once again confused the Moblin's sight. As they had moved around one another, showing a different opponent with every attack, the Moblin was unable to coordinate itself long enough to attack one before the other attacked once more. The Moblin reared back to strike at Laurel only the have its head bashed as Nyles performed a quick jump and spin. His shield brought down sharply upon its skull and his blade raked across its back. The creature only gave a hushed cry before it finally couldn't stand any longer, collapsing on the floor.
The sudden cry of the Gibdos caused him to turn back to the battle without relishing victory. He saw Kairi flying above the smouldering mummies out of their reach, but they were turned toward Allevy, an enemy they could reach given enough time. They were not the threat. Nyles could easily see the paralyzed Allevy helpless to prevent the Moblin rushing toward him.
Nyles rehearsed a dance he had practiced many a time since he first wielded this shield and sword. He swung the blade downward, spraying the fresh blood onto the stone floor, and slide the blade into its sheath within the shield. In a quick spin motion, he pulled his bow free of his back. His hand gripped the metallic weapon and his fingers gently nipped where the bow string would be. On command, a pale blue light connected the ends of the bow. He drew the glowing bowstring back, creating another line of magic.
He gave a grunt as he spent a brief moment lining up his shot. He prayed that he was still as capable as he was in his youth. He let the spirit arrow fly. The blue streak flew straight and true, hitting the Moblin dead in its face. The creature reared back, stunned only for a moment. The arrow hadn't done much physical harm and the energy dissipated against its flesh, but telling yourself you were not just hit in the head with an arrow is difficult to do.
He drew the string back once more, glancing across the room. "Assist the boy, Princess! I will pick at the dead from a distance!" His sights already lined up with the nearest Gibdo. Nyles attacked Moblin 1 for , killing it. Nyles shot Moblin 2 for
