"After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER."
Dark. It had to be a cloudy day when they decided to attempt to take the castle back. It only emphasized what had occurred here. The streets were once filled with people who would go about their daily lives. They would work, play, watch their kids, walk to the market, prepare for dinner. Everything was normal until the monsters just appeared behind the walls and terrorized everyone. The town evacuated, but those who didn’t make it were left. The lack of life was unsettling.
Ashton charged ahead of her teammates, Josh and Icarus. She had gotten to know these two somewhat before the attack. She wished they didn’t have to risk their lives or dirty their hands in this conflict, but like Laurel said this was a problem beyond the ability of the Royal Family or the Hylian Knights, or what’s left of them.
Ashton had given up her armor. The armor was beyond broken after many failed battles and sieges where the knights who were with her had perished. She now wore the white and red training uniform of the knights. It was one of the few outfits she felt capable of fighting in beyond armor. She held Greysteil over her shoulder as she ran. It was oddly quiet in these streets. The sounds of battle echoed from the surrounding areas. Steel clashing against steel, inhuman roars or wails, the blood-curdling screams of the fallen.
Ashton cringed as she pressed on. It sounded like a massacre rather than a siege. No pretty words could cover up what was happening today. They moved farther and farther away from the town center. Their mission was to check on some shops for supplies and collect them if they hadn’t been ransacked, and scouting discovered a barricade where some guards took up to defending. If they could make it there maybe they could save someone.
Ashton came to a stop in the street, “It’s quiet. Way too quiet for my liking. Keep your eyes and ears open!” She turned to Icarus and Josh as they caught up to her. “Don’t forget our mission now. We have to find that weapons shop and the apothecary den. If they have anything worth scavenging we take what we can carry. Even if it’s stealing from our neighbors,” she said this while gripping the sash around her where she could pack away potions.
Ashton turned forward and as she attempted to say something a pack of Keese flew out of the alleyways. It wasn’t long before the Keese were flying around the three and trying to dive at them. Ashton ducked down under one, swinging her sword upward only to clip one of the bats as they flew about. She moved to stand beside Icarus and Jacob.
“Keep your heads about you! There’s a lot of them, but they’re small and fragile! Knock them out of the air one at a time!”
Ashton used an action to dodge Keese A's attack, following with an attack action to Keese A dealing of damage.

Josh shook his head in dismay at the sight of the destroyed Castle Town. He'd heard tales of this place, how full of life it once was.... Josh had wanted to visit at some point, to see it for himself... But it was too late for that now. Now, there was only destruction, only ruin, only monsters.... All they could do now was fight their hearts out to take the castle back. And Josh would risk life and limb, no matter what it took, to assure that it happened.
Josh adjusted the large Dragon's Flame on his back. His guard wouldn't wither for a second...
And just in time too, it seems a couple of Keese had decided it was feeding time.
"Ah, blast it!" the Adventurer cried out as one of them fell upon him. Quickly, his fingers gripped onto the pommel of his sword, and it was out in an instant, slashing at the nearest Keese.
Direct hit. The Keese went down, but it wasn't out just yet. (Half a heart from Keese B! Was going to hit C, but I forgot to do the stats and someone else hit Keese C)
"One more should do it..." the Adventurer mused to himself. The Keese, of course, probably wasn't happy, and was bound to attack soon enough...
Joining this fight served one purpose, to encourage a better reputation for the Twili. Icarus was not much of a fighter, rather he prided himself in being a scolar. However reading taught him enough to be effective with a bow, his magical abilities were uncanny. This seemed common among his race.
Ashton, the team leader, one of royal blood took charged in a way Icarus thought to be brash. It was admirable though her motivation to see Castle town restored. Being in the pressence of destruction only made Icarus yearning to see this through strengthen. The memories of the Twilight crisis were still vivid to Icarus, Castle town's current state eerily similar.
While running ahead of Icarus and his companion Ashton explained that they were to search for anything of use, potions, weapons, armor. Icarus did not feel moral conscious about doing so as he agreed with Ashton's justifications. It was necessary.
A screech from above, then a cloud of black as Keese's appeared."Keep your heads about you! There’s a lot of them, but they’re small and fragile! Knock them out of the air one at a time!” While saving his magic for a larger target may have been useful his shade ability was able to distpatch of a enemy with one blow. It lurked at the back of his mind that he should pratice with his bow. A shrug, that is why he had bought a blue potion. Besides being adept in magic he was able to passively regain magic.
A shout as someone told him to be weary, a Keese was flying towards him at great speed. Quick with his words blackness engulfed thebat like creature before it thudded to the ground. The noise only added to the erieness. He then quickly drew his bow, aiming into the bulk of the crowd he fired. Unsure of what target his arrow struck.
Icarus didn't even stop to wonder if his comrades would be weary of him, and if his decise action to kill would only emphasize a reason to be.
Icarus used an action to cast shade on Keese F dealing damage, at the cost of , followed by an attack action on Kesse D, dealing of damage. (Determined with generator)

"After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER."
Ashton tried to keep her eyes on the particular keese that she had wounded. Its flight path was much more droopy and labored than the others, but sweeping black masses made it difficult to keep up on just one. She noticed Josh's swift unsheathing of his sword and a solid blow on one of the keese. She couldn't help herself when it came to smirking at her team's precision.
A keese took advantage of this sudden lapse of attention. The small bat flew in close causing Ashton to attempt to step back to avoid it, but it wouldn't be enough. A loosed arrow flew and hit the keese solidly in its front, causing it to fly wide and miss Ashton completely. She turned to see Icarus had down one bat himself and had protected her in the same swift motion.
She turned to look at the five that were flying around them. The keese with the arrow set firmly in it was easy to see and was an easy target for her to slash out of the sky with her greatsword. She didn't hesitate as she used the momentum built to make a rotation and go for another upward swing into one of the keese. It was a clean hit, but she was still unable to make the small creature fall, resulting in a quiet curse from her.
Ashton used an attack action on Keese D, killing it, following with another attack action on Keese C dealing of damage. Randomized as well.

"Come on!" he provoked in the Keese's direction. That adventurous adrenaline was starting to kick in and Josh was feeling it. Sure, it was just a couple of Keese... But what else could be in their path if they're getting attacked this early?
Keese B didn't stay down long, and quickly charged at the Adventurer again. This time, it tried to fly in complex patterns, attempting to dissuade Josh's aiming. Josh couldn't pinpoint the thing's pattern this time around, and was forced to duck.
Luckily, the Keese sailed right past him, and with quick reflexes, Josh swiftly stood to his feet and with a yell, slashed the greatsword Dragon's Flame at the Keese from behind, sending it in a tailspin into the wall. The thing crashed to the ground on impact and disappeared.
Josh didn't let his victory linger for long though, because he had to sidestep Keese E suddenly going at him.
It appeared to Icarus that Josh was flowing with adrenaline, he was striking Keese's with his great swordwith precision. Ashton was nimble and quick, it was lucky that Icarus shot a Keese which would have hit her.
There were only three Keese's left now, it was tempting to use his magic again, intellect won out and he ready an arrow. He still needed a lot of practice, the Keese he had hit earlier was flying around without precision. It kept bumping into the others causing quiet the commotion. Icarus worried they may be attracting unwanted attention. He let loose his arrow, it hit his previous target and with a thud it was dispatched. He began to sweet, surely his luck would run out soon.
A Keese began to dive at him, someone yelled for him to move, instead he focused on what Kiru had taught him. 'Be patient, don't fire blindly, sometimes you might get hurt but you've got this.' He inhaled on the pull back, and held his breath as he watched his arrow sail. He smiled as the Keese fell, he was getting better.
He nodded to himself, before assessing the situation. One Keese was left but he was too shaky to deal with it. He hoped his comrades would and step back so that they would be in front of him.
Icarus used two attack actions on Keese A, and C dealing of damage respectively.
"After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER."
Ashton smirked, her teammates proving to be more than capable of this mission given to them. The keese were picked off one at a time by their combined efforts. Josh's greatsword was capable of powerful blows that knocked the keese out of the sky. Icarus swiftly shot each weakened one out of the air his arrows. Ashton's confidence was swelling, thinking they could take down any number of simple bats.
She leaped at the final keese, hoping to take it down with a single blow. The keese managed to perform a swift circle around her blade and strike at her shoulder, drawing a bit of blood. She grunted and swung her sword backwards at the keese. The blade catching the keese's wing and causing it to spiral downward. It flailed its wings in an attempt to regain its flight.
Ashton grabbed her shoulder. Her shoulder stained her white glove red. The pain sparked her anger rather than causing her to realize her own overconfidence. "It's almost done. Finish it off." She grunted angrily as she rose to her feet once more, waiting for her teammates to beat the keese before moving on.
Ashton attacked Keese B for , taking of damage from the Keese.

Josh heard a noise come from Ashton and he winced. One more Keese, he thought to himself...
In a surprising display of strength, despite how heavy the sword was, Josh's fingers wrapped tight on the pommel of Dragon's Flame as he ran past Ashton at "Finish it off". He didn't seem tired whatsoever as he ran, despite how he was feeling inside. And then, he pulled THIS off.
Leaping into the air, Josh managed to cut the Keese off with a hard shot in mid-air, sending it crashing to the ground and causing it to disappear.
As Josh landed on his feet, instead of relishing his victory, he walked over to Ashton's side and looked for where she'd been hit.
"Are you alright?" he asked her gently, yet the concern in his voice was evident.
(I think this is pretty self explanatory, Keese E is dead. XD)
Icarus listened as the last Keese died, during Josh's display of strength Icarus had gone over to Ashton. "That final Keese proved that they are smarter than one would assume, we may need to be more cautious heading forward." He spoke calmly, in a static-like fashion. Icarus hoped Ashton would understand that he didn't want her to go charging ahead again, as anything could be ahead.
Icarus was well educated and he knew one saying very well; "This feels like the calm before the store."

"After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER."
Ashton hardly had a chance to finish her words before Josh had charged past her and leaped into the air. When she wielded her greatsword she still appeared as though she was throwing its weight around while Josh could easily wield his blade one handed like it was a short sword. She looked on with surprise as he spiked the final keese into the ground, effectively silencing the area around them.
She was brought out of her state by Icarus before Josh had a chance to turn around. "That final Keese proved that they are smarter than one would assume, we may need to be more cautious heading forward." He spoke calmly, almost eerily so. It did little to stifle Ashton's flare of emotion at being lectured. She simply gave an angry grunt as a reply.
By the time Josh had arrived she already had a scowl on her face. "Are you alright?" His tone showed concern. "I'm fine. Let's go." she responded sourly. She shook her hand as if it would get the blood off as she walked past Josh. She showed no concern for Icarus' words of wisdom and proved his concerns. She heard him say that this was the calm before the storm. She had to agree with him. It was oddly tame for a town ravaged and destroyed by monsters who seem to have taken up residence here. She wasn't going to let that stop her progress though. As long as she drew breath she would fight.
She rounded the corner of the street and slowed her brisk pace to a slow crawl. The street was filled with ghost-like beings wrapped in cloth. They simply floated about in a random fashion staring off into windows, the ground, or the sky. There were small canisters on the ground with eerie flames inside that looked like lanterns. A couple of the ghost-like beings were possessively holding onto similar lanterns in their arms. Ashton slowly crept up to them. She slowly passed in between two of them without any trouble. One even passed within a few feet of her, looked at her, and went back about its business. They did not seem troubled by her or her companions' presence though a few stared at her intently, as if recognizing her.
She turned back toward Josh and Icarus, "These creatures don't seem to be hostile. We should take advantage of that and not cause a fight." She pointed to two buildings, one on each side of the street. "Those are the shops were were looking for. Who's going to go check the buildings?" she asked. Each shop had a sign that made it easy to identify with a sign depicting an anvil and a cauldron. She kept a close eye on the ghost-like beings around her, on edge even if they were calm. The way they looked around longingly and stared into windows sadly made her wonder if they had come in the invasion force or if they were here all along.

Being raised around nobles Icarus hated looking down his nose at people but couldn't help it when Josh spoke, while he kept his thoughts to himself the young adventure seemed to be a bit.. slow. That wasn't to say Icarus did not respect him by any means, just held himself in a high standing when it came to intelligence.
While Ashton did not like Icarus comment she did seem to proceeded with much more caution, for that he smiled. He analyzed the area, then made his decision. "I will scout the apothecary shop." He knew magic very well, if something of use was to be found he would find it. He strode past Ashton, tall, dark, eerily composed. He didn't have time to worry if he feared them, he needed to be weary.
Poe B glowered at him before moving towards it's lantern. He wasn't sure if that was sign it would attack or not, it did however not seem hostile yet. The fireball poe however seemed threaten by his presence, as did many living things. It let out a shreak as a fireball soared at Icarus. It burned slightly, but he didn't seem to be on fire. He noted that it had become invisible and sighed. Hopefully that was as aggressive as it got, he didn't want to bring harm to these beings if they were townsfolk slaughtered. "It may be wise to destroy the other lanterns that are not already in possession of these beings, poes, I believe they are called. It would increase our chances of success if they got more hostile." He nodded at Ashton and Josh down the road, then entered the shop.
"After all you put me through, you'd think that I'd despise you. But in the end, I wanna thank you. Cause you made me that much STRONGER."
Ashton looked over her shoulder as he tried to comfort her. She winced, the muscle still stiff. She turned back to the floating things. They reminded her of ghosts and other such things. Kinda like what hangs out around graveyards at night. She hadn't really had an experience with such creatures before.
She turned to face Josh as he asked his question, "Yeah of course the town was slaughtered by monsters! Can't you see the damage done all around us! It's like you're saying they're dead townsfolk..."
Her flared spirit simmered down quickly. She turned and looked at the various Poe floating about. Many were looking right at her, but did nothing. She didn't want to believe that even after the horrible events that happened here, some of them were still cursed to suffer even more. Her attention was partially taken by Icarus as he walked through the streets. The ghost-like beings seemed on edge around him. One even cried out and attacked him before disappearing from sight. He hardly looked concerned as he turned back toward them.
"It may be wise to destroy the other lanterns that are not already in possession of these beings, poes, I believe they are called. It would increase our chances of success if they got more hostile."
With that he walked into the Apothecary Shop. Ashton looked at the Poes before turning away, balling up her fists.
"Do what you want," she said quietly, "I'm going to check the Weapon's Shop.."
She walked away from Josh with her back turned...
The Weapon's Shop was mostly cleared out except for the roughest of wares. The armor and shields within would take half an hour to fit properly, but they were better than nothing. The rakes upon rakes of empty shelves made things look bleak. Even the back store rooms were picked clean though in a bag with some junk and components were three old bombs capable of dealing to three enemies.
The Apothecary Shop was a mess. Broken jars and spilled liquids were all over the floor. Only some bottles remain on the shelves, unbroken and left behind. Hardly any of the reagents were even left as if they were some kind of rarity or held importance by themselves. The back of the room held an odd, massive cauldron. A small fire was lit beneath it and a light blue liquid bubbled inside that gave off an odd odor. Two doors in the back were locked, no amount of force seemed to make them budge. Perhaps the noise would alert someone. A key or another way might be found elsewhere. One blue potion was found intact capable of restoring six

"I hope not...." he muttered as he scanned the area. His two companions had already decided to take the shops, so Josh was left outside... With the bleeding Poes. Joy.
He decided to take a walk. Cuz why the hell not? If he was going to be stuck outside in cold destroyed Castle Town, might as well walk around, right? Too bad it was demolished though, this was somewhere Josh had wanted to go for his entire life... It felt almost... Familiar. Like he'd spent a long time here in the past.
Yet here it was.... In all it's glory. Destroyed. Barren. Abandoned. Ransacked. Destroyed. All of it's beauty, demolished like nothing. The beautiful flower, wilted, the gem of Hyrule, fractured. It's townspeople, colorful as the town itself, slaughtered, possibly even cursed to roam for eternity as Poe...
Treading carefully as not to spook the Poes, Josh walked up to one of the lanterns that were discussed...
Hesitantly, Josh made a decision, and let out a grunt as he brought down the large Dragon's Flame on the lantern (A)
It shattered, presumably. Josh winced as he feared the sound might make the Poes hostile... He quickly threw up his guard.
