The two boats reached the large gate. Rune looked up at the large walls and wondered what they where going to do. Her heart sped as she realized that Ulrich was within them. She looked at everyone they had complied to come along, and she took a moment to thank them in her head thank them for doing this. She turned around as she heard the large gate opening, and saw a small girl turning it up at the top. She noticed that the search lights where off as promised, but that didn't stop the guards that where lurking around at least the little one claimed.
As the gates where fully opened, Rune waved and mouthed a thank you she was sure the girl couldn't see, but she got a small wave back and then the girl was gone. Rune took a deep breath, and signaled for the boats to move in. Having parked it she got out with Bosco next to her, and pulled out her sword and her heart was pumping. Running in, with only one goal in mind she quickly forgot about her partners.
Spotting the first two enemies Rune was tempted to just skip them, but as they ran for her she realized that wasn't an option and quickly jumped up and slashed at one with her newly improved weapon and turned quickly, readying herself for another attack.

Josh took a breath as he took in the sights around him. This was it, possibly the most dangerous mission he had ever undertaken...
He watched as the gate opened, and gave a familiar smile to who he assumed was the girl from the letters. He would be happy to talk to her later, after all this was done and over with...
And then guards two notice. Two to be exact. Their faces reminded him of pigs and the first one looked even moreso as one of his comrades slashed at it. Grinning, he drew his greatsword, Dragon's Flame as it was dubbed... And went for a hard slash toward the second guard, hoping to draw it's attention as so it wouldn't take Rune from behind while she was distracted.

Josh DragonsFlame hit Pig Guard B for quarter of a heart!
Shinzou takes a deep breath, as he steers his boat into the old pirate's headquarters. There wasn't a soul alive who made a dishonest living on the sea without hearing at least stories of the Forsaken Fortress. It used to be the home to the blackest, most cutthroat gang that ever terrorized the seas, and just about every aspiring pirate captain sought to make his own base there at one time or another. The smarter ones gave up, and the stupid ones sparked wars on the high seas, as the ambition was cut short. There was an old saying: Whoever held the Fortress in his hand was king of the sea...as long as he could keep it there."
So it was a bit of an irony that he was the one stepping into the fortress. His old captain had been too smart to let ambition cloud his head enough to try it, and when he grew tempted, his crew made their own opinion on the matter clear. The fact that he was the first of the old gang to step inside the walls was enough to make him laugh, despite the gloom.
Seeing two burly beastmen brawlers, Shinzou scans the area, and sees a rope ladder hanging down from the side of the fortress' walls, probably a way for fallen defenders to climb back up to the ramparts. "Alright, fellas. You take the boat in, I'm trusting you with her!" Jumping off, he catches himself on the ladder without getting wet, and climbs a few rungs, tossing the rope around his arm and leg to stead himself. Drawing his bow, he notches an arrow, and from this distance, begins to aim down the shaft at the pigman.
Seeing Rune and the man they met up with earlier engage the beasts, he bites his lip. "C'mon, keep 'em steady...Just got to sink one good one between the eyes..."
Calling down at the people in his craft, he gestures for them to get moving. "Go on, get moving! Rune'll need your help...she's good, but I've fought these pigmen before, they're nasty fellows!"
Garnet stands at the front edge of the boat, shivering. In the dark shadow of the Fortress his face is visibly shining from excitement.
"This is very glorious", he thinks, as the boats enter the depth of the fortress, "just like a dream.
Inside the darkened depth of the fortress, what would be waiting for us?"
Garnet cannot wait.
He had been quite restless along the journey to the fortress, constantly chirping and trying to lift up the spirits of the party. He jumped all around the boat, now drifting in the moonlit sea, and shouts warcries and tall tales in what he thought all heroes had always done before their quest. It was well for some time, but after endless drifting among the monotonic waves almost none of the party share his spirit anymore.
But Garnet did not care, and he was ready to exclaim a long ancient battle speech before someone quieted him down.
They needed to be stealthy, and careful.
And Garnet watched with amazement as the Forsaken Fortress came into view, its strange curving towers shade the night sky. The fortress is an eerie sight, black and bent, with its thickly build walls rising proudly from the rocky cliff where it stands. Old anchors hanged from its height like a foreboding sign, and not even a single bird circled its place. To the part that faces the sea stood a giant gate made of wood and metal, seemingly untouchable and unbreakable.
But it certainly could be opened.
Garnet watches in slight awe as the sturdy gates slowly opened. He had read in his books, and almost none of the gates there opened easily for the heroes.
Except if the hero’s friends had already been there.
As the ship glided through the gates Garnet saw, high up on the walls, a shadow slowly turning the gears of the gate.
And Rune, the girl who was their leader, silently thanked the shadow, and the shadow waved back.
Garnet, ever springy, has already jumped to the hull and drew his sword upward, intending to shout a proper greeting to the shadow for its service. Fortunately he was quieted down, and needed to settle on energetically waving his sword above his head with a sign of sure victory.
The shadow stooped and disappeared.
Now Garnet watches eagerly as the boats come nearer to a wooden dock. The Fortress is a circular one, with gates protecting a lagoon of sea water, obviously made to shelter many ships inside the fortress. It would be very hard to find a way out if the enemy decided to to close in on them.
But Garnet does not come here to run away, and, it seems , Rune thinks the same way.
The pink-haired lady hastily draws her sword when the boats just barely finish anchoring. For Garnet, it seems that she has forgotten the whole stealth situation as she quickly jumps down on the fortress inner floors and runs straight to the nearest door, leaving her allies behind.
That is when two guards notices her and begin closing in. The sneaking has ended!
Garnet bursts. On his position on the front hull of the boat, he quickly slips his hand on Turan and, making sure it is securely placed, points Laran forward in one elegant move.
He has been waiting to make this pose for a long time ever since he read it.
His heart swells as he faithfully shouts a line of a hero he has memorized. Oblivious to the tense feelings in his allies, he happily lets his high-pitched screech beats the ruffling sound his allies create as they move. “From this day to the ending of the world, We in it shall be remembered! O, we few, we happy few. We band of brothers!”
And Garnet jumps from the boat, swiftly assuming his rolling form. With Turan and Laran held parallel on his sides, he speedily circles around the two guards, catching up to Rune, and then suddenly springs back to shape as he jumps.
Slashing Laran upward at the same enemy Rune is fighting, he lets out a yell just as Rune’s sword hits her target.

Their attacks come together at nearly the same time. The Moblin staggers, confused at the sudden impact. But from the corner of his eyes Garnet sees another movement behind and turns around fast, placing Turan on his front.
But he only faces an angry growl as the other guard turns angrily around, its back slashed by a greatsword.
Garnet shouts and addresses the yellow-haired swordsman with gratitude.
“Well fought, Sir Dragonsflame!”
Quickly turning back, he sees the first guard readying its attack. Stepping beside Rune, he chirps another set of words.
“Leader-Lady Darius, mayhap it be best to send these man-at-arms down before us proceeding, lest unnecessary hindrance findeth us on our back.”
Lillith was happy to see that the party had actually came. And as she promised in her letters she had the spotlight guards all go on random missions. She had opened the gate, and left it open for a quick escape. Mr. Thistle hadn't come with much, but she did get his original clothes to gather and put them in a travel pack. Along with some soup, and an extra bottle. She ran to the proper room and opened up the door, to where Ulrich's cage was.
She opened up the large cage and quickly handed the young boy the clothes. "Hurry Mr. Thistle, I believe it's time for you leave." She spoke, worriedly. She had to keep out of her mind what Defticai was going to end up doing to her. And she was scared out of her mind. But this was the right thing to do, she was saving the life of a very nice young man.
"Your friend that you talked about is here with a group of people, and I think she's going to be here soon, so please get ready. I packed you some helpful things for leaving, and hope it's enough." She commented, handing him a small travel pack.
She closed the cages door, and turned away in case he wanted to change back into his proper attire. "I'm going to keep the door closed but unlocked, and if Defticai comes to soon act like you're still locked up and I'll get him out of here." she smiled and giggled a bit. "Thanks for staying with us Mr. Thistle."
Elion wasn’t one to turn away a young lady in need – especially not in this case. She never had liked that fellow who’d taken up residence here in this fortress. She’d started liking him even less when he’d gone and stolen her priceless family heirloom, sticking her with this awful illness in the process. Stealing young boys was the last straw – now, she would intervene. And she would do so despite this horrible headache of hers! Honestly, it was the worse she’d felt in ages. Between that and the blackened rash that she’d attempted to cover with her many bandages, every movement was a horrifically painful experience. The woman consoled herself with the knowledge that, not only would it be remedied, but this tyrant would be dealt with.
She did, for his sake, hope that it was the last time he attempted to do anything as nasty as all of this. While she could not condone killing, she supposed that as a younger woman she might have understood doing it in this particular situation. Miss Rune, she hoped, would be wiser than that even with all things considered. She was certainly a hotheaded one. It was pleasing to see that kind of drive, but in a sense also worrying. Ah well. There would be plenty of time to think on it after the boy was rescued and her artifact was back in its proper place.
While Elion carried swords, she was in all honesty more a witch than anything. The blades were nice to have for if she ever got into a pinch, but if she could help it, she preferred to let her spells do the talking. These guards certainly seemed to be asking for it. The lady was not one to show her emotions on her sleeve, but today the circumstances were right. Her own discomfort and her disgust at the inhabitants of this fortress for keeping an innocent prisoner had painted a frown on her face, and she stepped forward off the boat with the intention of putting one on theirs.
“No more of that.” She muttered, extending her hand. A great burst of icy magic flew from it and crashed into the second guard. The shards that flew off from the impact hit the other one square in the back.

She pulled both blades from the sheath on her back after that purely for protection’s sake and looked around. What a nice little group they had. She smiled a bit in spite of all the chaos surrounding them. At the very least, this did seem like a trustworthy bunch.
The Forsaken Fortress. The girl let out a soft sigh, as she looked around; she knew that the entirety of the area was.. well dangerous. They had heard that much, hadn't they? But Rune had insisted. Calanthe felt her heart clench, almost painfully. The emotions she held inside of her were almost enraging, as she hissed out a breath, they landed on the shore, as her head shook. She didn't want to go rescue her rival in love; but she had to, didn't she. The Gerudo didn't like that idea one little bit, as her steps shuffled, following after the head of blonde. Indeed, the longing for that bond was strong, as she felt her heart almost in pain. After all.. Rune was single-handedly going to tear this apart.
As the blonde seemed to leave them behind, as the gates opened, the Gerudo felt bitter, almost angry. She took a breath, and noticed she was the last one. She couldn't afford to be left behind, as her steps clicked on the ground, her body moving through the gates. She could immediately see combat; from Rune's beautiful form. The girl let out a sigh, as she felt almost.. jaded. She saw the other male's, Josh's great sword whip out into action; the way he wanted the targets to come at him, in order to help Rune. She could almost feel her teeth grinding in anger; she wanted to be the one out there, doing all of these things for Rune!
She had noticed Shinzou go up, and assumed his weapon was long ranged.. that left the weird Dodongo looking thing. This thing had attempted to shout and scream, and just all manner of things; and Calanthe had brought the bought of Shinzou to port as well. That was why she had been slow in entering the fray; she needed no reminder that Rune needed more then just her help. The small thing was almost annoying; why was it with them? The girl let out a snort, and just shook her head, as it fought as well. The other woman, perhaps the only one the Gerudo could not feel such deep seated anger towards, was almost a calm figure. The red haired gerudo let out another soft sigh, relaxing only slightly.
As the ice bore into the back of the creatures, the red haired girl moved; she had been silent, she had been hidden, and she was last. The feelings in her heart were many, and the sudden rush of battle was in her veins. She was a Gerudo; combat was her domain her home, as she slipped towards the first creature. The one that had not attacked Rune, but was still a threat; her arms moved, and to be fair, it looked like she punched it at this distance. The blades on her arms were hidden by her sleeves, as the creature dropped dead; and the girl whirled around, to the one that was attacking Rune. Calanthe's eyes then shone with untempered anger.
''GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER.'' burst out of the small Gerudo, that had been quiet and logical until right up that second. Wildly, she stabbed, her fists slamming into the creature; but it wasn't enough to kill, only stumble it's movement due to Calanthe's entire body put into that maneuver. That meant that Calanthe was open to a counter attack; the beast's fist slammed into her body, as she felt her teeth grip. She was rudely shoved back, but she kept her footing, collapsing to her knees once she wasn't sliding. Her breath let out as a cough, as she tried to retake the air she had obviously lost. The girl let out a wheeze, and then breathed out. She probably had some time to recover, the rest could take care of that thing. Calanthe however, had to do with something else.
The rage that was starting to rise up like acid spittle in her throat, tasting quite like throwing up.
Rune was happy as everyone quickly came to her aid. She smiled at Calanthe who had finally killed off one of the pig guards. "Thanks guys!" she shouted happily. And ran past the remaining one. "You guys can take care of the past one I'm sure!" She shouted, before running up to the next room, where there was one guard she brought up her sword, thinking quickly for a moment. She honestly didn't have time for this, and quickly used her wing manipulation and lifted herself and moved once again, on to the next room.
This one had a bunch of small little guys, and she couldn't help but laugh. Though, one poked her with a small little pitchfork "Ow." And they where swarming she backed up and slashed at the one that had hurt her, and then turned and slashed at another, hoping to get them out of her way. What in the world? These things where annoying.
Their little voices made it worse she had to hop up on a few boxes while trying to figure out a way to get past the other two. What in the world was going on?
skipped Moblin A, and went and used her technique to get out of room two, so is now in room three and killed two miniblins, but took a quarter heart too.

The moblins were finally beaten... Finally... Josh took a deep breath as he watched Rune run ahead. Quickly, he figured she knew the way, and took off in a run after her.
.... Only to be smashed into a wall by Moblin C for quarter heart.
Josh groaned, this wasn't how he had envisioned this going...
He made a mental note to be more careful as he sat up, his vision beginning to return to him as his mind stopped spinning. His eyes focused on the Moblin. Perhaps he could distract it enough for the others to get by?
Josh growled as he picked up Dragon's Flame, rage in the eyes of the blonde haired warrior as his knuckles turned white from how hard he gripped the pommel of the blade. Quickly, he charged, letting out a war scream as he slashed at the Moblin, harder then before, sending it flying a few feet in the air before it hit the ground.
Figuring he'd done enough to at least clear the way for everyone, Josh took advantage of the Moblin's temporary stunned state as it started to get up to make a break for it, trying to catch up with Rune as soon as humanely possible.
JOSH DRAGONSFLAME HIT MOBLIN C FOR HALF A HEART, BUT TOOK A QUARTER HEART OF DAMAGE HIMSELF!
Looking down from his makeshift perch, Shinzou gets a bird's-eye view of the skirmish. He tries unsuccessfully to hold back a cheer as the first and second moblins are taken down...it'd screw with his aim, but he was excited. Their little gang was no joke!
He grew worried, however, when the last remaining pig guard smacks Josh into the wall, and he shifts his aim accordingly. Cheering again when Josh gets out of harms way, he lets his grip on his arrow grow slack, firing the bolt at the monster. Burying itself in it's temple, the attack causes the beast to roar in rage and pain, the only thing saving the creature from instant death is it's extraordinarily thick skull. "Your welcome, ugly!" Shinzou calls, as he notches another arrow, then leaps from the rope ladder entirely.
As he flies in the air, he quickly aims down the shaft, and fires again. This arrow finds it's mark as well, almost miraculously so. Bringing the beast down, he gives a cheer. "Yahoo! That's how it's done!" Just then, he hits the water, coughing up brine. Still, a big grin shines on his face, as he climbs up the docks, meeting the rest of them in the Fortress proper.
"That was some fine work, gents! Now, let's catch up to the little lady, what do you say?" Seeing Josh run off, he takes the cue, following him deeper into the fortress' halls. "H-Hey! Wait for me!"
Shinzou releases his Aimed Shot for 1.5 hearts, and uses his Critical skill to deal another heart of damage! Moblin C goes down!

FOREVER
HERES TO WHAT MAKES EVERYDAY WORTH IT
In his time here, Ulrich had become rather lethargic. He still ate and wandered around his cage occasionally, but otherwise he would quietly sit with his back against one of the walls or just lay on the floor. Sure Deftacai would come around and bother him from time to time, but it wasn't worth the trouble to get worked up. He didn't have anything to look forward to anymore. Each day was the same monotonous routine. The food was good at least.
Ulrich sat in silence in the cage. His mind wandering off to the careful procedures one had to perform to tend to pigs. The process one uses to take care of these animals was actually quite detailed. Various elements of their diet and environment has to be carefully monitored. If something gets out of control it could injure one of the pigs or end up with the lot of them becoming diseased.
Ulrich was pulled from this boring train of thought by Lilith, the housekeeper here. He had gotten to know her somewhat in his time here and enjoyed her company more than Deftacai's. He watched with curious interest as she unlocked the cage and opened the door. In his time here Lilith hadn't opened the cage once, Deftacai had but Ulrich didn't dare try to escape with Deftacai right in front of him. He looked down at the clothes she had handed him. They looked like a fresh outfit from his usual wardrobe.
"Hurry Mr. Thistle, I believe it's time for you leave." Ulrich looked up at her, blatantly confused as to what the situation was. "Your friend that you talked about is here with a group of people, and I think she's going to be here soon, so please get ready. I packed you some helpful things for leaving, and hope it's enough."
His eyes opened wide with an excitement he hadn't felt in forever. He immediately knew who she was talking about.
"Rune's here?! Really?! How did she figure out this was where I was?"
His questions kept rambling on as he looked through the pack she handed him. He glanced at the items held within, but it wasn't what he wanted to know about. His gaze wandered up to the cage. The sound of the door shutting catching his attention.
"I'm going to keep the door closed but unlocked, and if Defticai comes to soon act like you're still locked up and I'll get him out of here." He looked down at his rags. He quickly disrobed and put on his new clothes. They fit wonderfully! Ulrich couldn't keep himself from smiling.
"Thanks for staying with us Mr. Thistle." He met her gaze and looked off toward another wall, a small smirk on his face. "I can't say it was enjoyable by any stretch of the word, but you made it bearable. Thank you for your hospitality Ms. Lilith."
He gave her a small bow before rushing toward the door and looking around the room. "Where do we need to go to meet Rune? The sooner the better to me."
Garnet has not even finished his sentence entirely when Rune springs forward, dashing quickly past the remaining guard, who is still standing and still a threat with ice shards protruding from its back.
"Thanks guys! You guys can take care of the past one I'm sure!
Then she flies quickly out of Garnet's sight.
Garnet is mortified. “Hold thy feet, Leader-lady! Never hath it been wise to –Waaaaa‼”
Garnet holds his head down and curls just as a red shadow flies above him, screaming in rage. With a metallic flash and stretched hands the red figure slams her fist hard to the creature, creating a scary sound. The creature backs down in pain, but not for long. It lets out a fearsome roar and shoves the girl away by ramming her with its fists.
That is when Garnet sees her face.
It is the Gerudo woman who has been quieting him all this time, and the one who has been left behind on the boat!
Without thinking, Garnet springs back up and turns, mid-air. He intends to roll straight to the red-haired lady and see her just in case she is injured.
“Lady Va-“
But his jump is stopped abruptly by a hard knock on his head.
“-aww!”
He lands down and spins, a little dizzy. But Garnet’s whole body, including his head, is made from rocks, and such an unintended impact would hardly leave a scratch. But still, Garnet drops Laran and holds his head, intending to know what has stopped his jump.
Above him, is the big shadow of the first Moblin, swaying back and forth.
damage to Moblin A
Moblin A is downed!
It seems that, amidst the confusion of Calanthe’s sudden attack, the Moblin had forgotten that Garnet was there, curling beneath it like a small ball he is. As it rushed forward to Calanthe with arms open wide, its body was unprotected, and Garnet’s sudden jump smashed directly at its chin, sending it outside its consciousness.
For a split second, there is no movement but Garnet’s breathing and the Moblin’s swaying body. Then, at last, with a heavy sigh, the Moblin stumbles forward and falls to the floor with a loud bump, trapping Garnet under its hulking body.
But there is no scream nor scared screech from The Goron Heir. Only his voice can be heard mumbling under the masses of meat, trying to shout in elation.
“We have won!”
It does not take more than a few seconds for Garnet to free himself. Having had the time to put Turan in front of him, the abnormally strong Goron child pushes upward and, with a mighty cheer, sends the unconscious Moblin flying to the other side. He picks up Laran just as Shinzou appears, a big grin on his wet face.
"That was some fine work, gents! Now, let's catch up to the little lady, what do you say?"
“Aye, fine sir! To Leader-lady’s aid shall us make haste!”
Chirping and bright as always, Garnet shoves Laran energetically to accentuate his words. He then quickly strides to the person standing closest to him, Calanthe Vadas, and tries to grab her hand, intending to pull her and rush her hand-in-hand across the second room, just as a knight in hurry does to his female comrades in storybooks.
And even though Garnet knows that the Gerudo has not been fully approving of him, one can only see innocence and concerns painted on his bright smile, from it his voice is cheerful and high. He even feels a slight sorry for having left his comrades behind.
For Garnet’s children mind would not allow even the slightest thought of imperfection happening in his party. In his mind they are all a brave and loving group of adventurers, perfect on all conducts and deeply care for each other, there on a noble mission to save a prince.
And he might be oblivious to anything else, including the fact that Calanthe can no way roll like he could. But he would still run as fast as he could across the second room even without rolling. “Come, Lady Vadas! Mayeth fate hastens us to Leader-lady’s side, and leaveth thee not on the mercy of the last cometh the second chance! Worry not, for my rolling is fast, and no obstruction shall our strides face!”
| Garnet: Profile | Tracker Tag: @rune JOSH DRAGONSFLAME @calanthe SHINZOU TAKAIELION FALMER Personal Notes: Hurray for character interaction! :-D Calanthe, I took some liberty on your actions of quieting Garnet before since she seems to be the most likely one. I hope you do not mind.
Lillith blushed looking at her feet as he asked how Miss Darius he was here. "Ah.. I sent out a bunch of messages in bottles asking for help. I got a reply from a Mr. Dragonsflame, who went out and found Miss Darius for us and told her where you are... and she came with a large group of people all here to rescue here and stop Mr. Defticai." She blushed, honestly admitting she had been defiant was harder on her then ever. She wasn't sure what she was thinking.
She walked behind him "We don't want them to know that you're in on it, so Rune is going to come all the way here to save you!" She giggled, and pulled him back from the door to a little window in the wall and she looked around, hoping to see the team coming up the wall like she had instructed. She looked around, before pointing over to where she spotted a large group of people defeat a large Moblin.
"There seems to be a large group.." she looked at them all but didn't see the young lady that she had seen earlier. "I... don't believe Rune is within them..." She commented wondering where she could be? No way she lost already?
Lillith poked her head out the window farther, and then noticed her right next to the area in front of the door, getting attacked by a bunch of miniblins."Oh.. there she is.. a top those boxes." She pointed, wondering why the girl was so much farther ahead from her party. She tilted her head, in confusion, oh well it seemed she was only one step away from getting there. Lillith wanted to shout to her but the larger party that was closer would hear and she couldn't get in trouble.
If Defticai found out this was her doing.. well.. she wasn't planning on getting out of this alive anyway.
The battle raged and Elion followed, blades at her sides, looking to cut anything that fell into her path. She was a bit embarrassed with her own performance, honestly. In this state, she was…sluggish. She didn’t quite want to admit that to herself, but she was. It was humbling! Without her illness this would not have been easy, exactly, but at the very least she’d have been able to concentrate. Right now, there was a terrible burning sensation surging through her entire left side. This movement, she guessed, had upset the infection a bit more than she’d expected it to. She was, as a result, slower. And she paid for it. The Miniblin struck at just the right moment. Its spear jabbed her right in the thigh – the bandaged one. The lady stifled a cry and raised both swords, striking the beast with them one after the other in retaliation. That had hurt!

She supposed she ought to have taken a page out of her companions' books. In fact, that was a good idea. She would consider it if she continued to have trouble. If there was one thing she was good at, it was technique minicry. She heard voices up ahead - presumably belonging to the rest of the party - but could not make them out amid all the clanging. That little Goron was incredibly spirited.
