Some days, one could not avoid being what they choose. Such was true even of the Queen of Hyrule; today, people would be allowed in the castle, to see and speak with the woman. Of course, she would be alone; her husband was.. well who knows where. She would shortly, but that didn't matter; there was something that made the Queen unsettled today. The wise possibility of people arriving made her not anxious per say, but perhaps she would be overwhelmed with requests of things she just could not do. This was probably what was going to worry her more then anything; after all, despite the fact that she was the Queen, she held.. well the reigns to next to nothing. For this, sometimes, she hated her husband.
She was the Queen of Hyrule! She had royal blood in her veins, she had married the King out of all the other bride potentials. That enough should have been remarkable! But no, of course not; it offered no power to her. She has been more and more at a loss of what she wanted to do lately. Perhaps she would sneak out more, and become stronger; that was something that appealed to her. Perhaps it was her knight mixed bloodline, or perhaps it was just the way that Blodwen was; but the thrill of adventure.. that appealed to the very, very lonely housewife. But for now, she had to observe some things, such as greeting guests and people, and speaking to them.
Though, she would wish that someone interesting would come along; not some sight seeing back-water farmer from Termina, or an island that nobody's even heard of. These people were interesting in their own rights, but the moment the Queen tried to get something more interesting.. well they shut down like deer in headlights. Apparently, she was not supposed to be intelligent; that or they didn't know how to handle a woman that was sure of her power. Well okay, maybe to others she looked powerful and sure, but there was something inside of Blodwen that was like a dam; she felt powerless, trapped and just caged in. She was starting to hate that woman whom hung around her husband more and more; but she was a diplomatic person, so she never said or did anything.
Well, what didn't help is that Blodwen was loyal. Most would have cheated out of revenge if they knew half of what the King was doing with other people; but Blodwen had not even taken a lover in all of this time. That was probably amazing self control, or just a loyalty that never faded. Well that didn't matter; it was only moments now. Moments until the gates would open and the flood of people would be here to greet the queen, look at the castle and peek at the lives of the nobles. The oh so glorious, glamorous, and loveable life of the people ruling the country. She almosted wanted to snort at that thought.
With a creak, the gates to Hyrule castle opened.

Screw Tourists.
Ricard had been in a decidedly poor mood most of the morning. It had all been going fine and well until he had gotten assigned to managing the stupidly large influx of people come to visit Castle Town for the event; So that they could come and browse the castle and stare at the nobility awkwardly and whatever it was the peasants liked to do. He never understood their fascination with coming and just staring at them. It was like they had decided to show up but had no idea what to do when actually spoken too. But they came in droves nonetheless, and Ricard had spent all morning directing the guards for crowd control and making sure everything went as planned.
And by the goddess had it been boring.
Still, a job was a job and Ricard had done it without complaint. But honestly such a mundane task of management was one of the worst parts of being a knight. Luckily now that the event itself had started he had passed the proverbial torch onto the next guy in line, the preparations laid in place and set to proceed smoothly. Technically he was still "on duty" as if anything went wrong he'd be the person who was bugged about it, but he trusted everyone to do their jobs properly at this point. And if things went wrong, well, things went wrong, and Ricard would go fix it.
So, Ricard was forced to entertain himself within the castle, just in case. And in this case, he decided he might as well pay a visit to the star of the event; The Queen of Hyrule herself, and Ricard's own older sister. He weaved his way through the halls, with only a few moments until the gates themselves opened and all the lovable, gawking visitors swarmed in. Better to get to her before that happened.
Just as the gates creaked their way open, Ricard reached his destination, only a few steps from Blodwen. His body was aimed at the gate in a faux show of being at attention toward the incoming crowd, but his gaze settled on the blonde queen, a single hand crossing over his chest as he spoke.
Time. Something that few; no, that many had. And yet next to none decided to go forward with it. There was a soft note of amusement in her face, as she just let her body move towards the place she was meant to be. Perhaps, this was the only place immune to her horrible sense of direction; the castle she was born to serve, and she had lived in for many years. That and the Leonhardt manor, as the daughter, the Heir of the Leonhardts, found herself traveling towards the greeting day. Indeed, this was the day that any and all could greet the Queen, or stare at the insides of the palace. The eldest Leonhardt knight, well of the new Generation, followed her steps towards the members of her family.
''Ah, there you are.'' she said jovially, to her Irish twin. The apperance of Ketheldrein meant often things were being well kept; for if she was relaxed, and smiling such as now? There was no problem. Walking up to her sister, she greeted her with a kiss on the cheek and a hug, slipping something in the woman's pouch. That was for later. Once she was done greeting her lovely sister, she turned to her brother, letting a gentle grin on her face. ''You too Ricard? It's a busy day at the castle uh?'' she commented, ruffling the boy's hair. He was only a few inches taller then her, Ketheldrein being a rather tall woman. But that gave credence to her stature as a knight of Hyrule.
The woman let out a laugh, as the people began to float into the castle proper. ''Well, time to be heavily amused, hm?'' she said, that almost relaxed attitude of hers apparent. Though, she had done quite a lot, as she played with a lock of her hair. And nothing that her beloved family were quite.. well perhaps surprised at her appearance, she let out another small laugh. ''Oh right, wasn't I supposed to be elsewhere?'' she said with a playful tone, just knowing it would make Blodwen roll her eyes at the least. For one of Blodwen's agents, and perhaps a prolific knight of the court, it was quite awkward that she had such a commoner's way of thinking about things.. or doing them actually.
But it was something of a unique Ketheldrein flavour; few actually could figure out just want made Ketheldrein as.. unique as she was. But many of the knights, male and female had fallen head over heels for the woman. Perhaps she would have been the Head of the Guards herself, had she not declined the invitation to participate in the tourney. But rather.. Ketheldrein had given the chance to others; and she was quite pleased with their choice. Einnashe Zeil. She was a beautiful Sheikah, one of a unique flavour too, that made Ketheldrein quite content to be alive, to help teach the girl some of the tricks the elder woman knew.
In fact, because of Einnashe, Ketheldrein felt it safe to leave the nest of the Castle.. and indulge in that wander lust like quality that seemed to grip nearly every single one of the girls at some time or another. ''Though, my trip isn't until tomorrow.. so I may just spend today working once more.'' she added jovially to her last statement, knowing that they probably knew she was leaving. It wasn't much of a secret.. but perhaps it was something to make them think. Because the Eldest Leonhardt was leaving.. that would leave a hole in the court, that many could, and would try to fill. But what would that bring to her family, to the ones she cared for? Ah.. who knew.
Come to think of it, where was Einnashe? Ketheldrein had been sure to mention to the Sheikah to come towards this event today. But for what? Well that was a secret, only for the Leonhardt heir to know, and to share.

Einnashe Zeil: Hyrule's Sentinel of Truth
|
Where was Einnashe? Well that was a simple question to answer : She was dutifully working as a knight should. This particular job wasn't one that she was told was mandatory to do, rather it was one she took upon herself.
As a royal guard she felt slightly apprehensive about such a large influx of people washing into the castle. So she decided to quickly check each guard's post with a well practiced and layed out patrol walk that'd allow her to see every corner of the castle without wasting any amount of time. After all she recalled that Lady Ketheldrein had requested her presence at the function.
"Though...It is not as if I would not be present anyway, M'lady.", Einnashe murmured in amusement to herself.
As she quickly paced toward the front of the gates and took note of every single guard's position she turned and made her way through the entrance. This was just before the people were allowed through, and such was planned. She needed to speak with the guards that'd be accompanying the youthful maidens whom would be performing a kind of tour through the castle. She'd taken the liberty of quickly gathering information about various people to be watching for. She wanted to make sure all the guards were well informed about them, even going so far as to request copies of wanted posters for the guards to quickly review in a meeting just before the opening of the gates. She'd see to it that the maids of the castle would be the ones to transport messages between the guards whom were too far away from the meeting at the front gate to safely leave their posts, that way all could be aware of what to look for if not already privy.
Once she was sure everyone was well informed and prepared she finally made her way quickly to Lady Ketheldrein's side via the pathway the peasants would be taking. Just by the looks of her one could tell her rationale was barely on taking the quick way to reaching her-side so much as carefully ensuring nothing was out of the ordinary and every weak spot was well taken note of. When she was finally there at the woman's side, however she relaxed a little. The relaxing of her shoulders was enough sign to anyone whom knew her that she'd done every amount of preparation she wanted to do. That everything was very well and thoroughly checked and adjusted should the need have been necessary.
When she came before the queen she halfway knelt in respect and spoke,"Good day, My Queen. Everything has been well observed thus far. I can ensure you are well protected."
Afterward she stood straight and made her way directly to Lady Katheldrein's side and produced a bow to her and their brother as well. Though a friendly smile would follow--at this point they may as well have been right? She certainly thought so--even if it was a commoner's way of thinking. What good was work if you could not work amongst friends?
"You called for me, M'lady?", Einna questioned curiously, though her words were not above a whisper.
Ah, it was perhaps a good idea to hold this event; people that normally avoided her, or were out of her reach to speak with gathered here today. The queen let out a soft smile, knowing that her lovely siblings, and perhaps even her children would come to her. She had an open chamber, that many would be orderly in entering; perhaps even her husband would come to this event. With a soft giggle, she noted a few people converging on her position; firstly, Ricard, a younger brother. One of the many brothers of hers that had become knights; and her eyes settled on the only oldest Leonhardt to come towards her. Her sister, Ketheldrein. And not far behind, Einnashe, the head of the royal guards.
Indeed, they were all coming towards her, as the Queen gave a gentle smile. She wore the clothes that many would think of a wedding dress; perhaps it was her eternal statement to be Tion's one and only bride. Around her neck, there lay a chain, with a padlock. The Key was only given to Tion himself. And behind her, within reach that is, is the beautiful blade she holds. But first was first; smiling at Einnashe, she nodded, gratefully towards the royal guard. Once her report was over, she tilted her head towards Ricard, the smile on her lips. ''Hello, brother. I am relatively fine; praying to the Goddesses that nothing unfortunate happens today.'' she said softly, answering his question. Indeed, her brother had become a fine man, and working hard to become distinguished; perhaps he was one of the more levelled Leonhardts.
After that, a certain blonde came wandering right up. Letting her elder sister hug her, Blodwen felt the movement, and knew exactly what it was. ''Oh? Gonna bother Ricard now?'' she said, playfully to her sister. Her sister's light hearted comment made the Queen eye roll. ''My you've already forgotten a quest.. or something, sister? Like the trip you said you would take?'' the woman asked, trying to not let the full exasperation of her tone show. Ketheldrein was always a handful, as Kethel filled in the rest of the statement, leaving the Queen and present company to know exactly what was going on. With another shake of her head, she just smiled, as a maid came towards her. Tilting her head, she nodded softly, as she had a bit more information. The guest she had wanted to see today would not be here; oh well.
The sounds of the gates moving, the feeling of it told the Queen it was time. That people would swarm her home soon; just to get a few peaks at how she lived.. and who she was as she smiled excitedly. The queen then let out a breath, and schooled her features; graceful, elegant. Powerful; just like the old Queen had taken great pains to teach her, over and over. It had been hard; but now she was a respectable and capable Queen. The woman gave off a soft sigh, as she closed her eyes. Indeed.. she would do her best to make everything work, as she adjusted her body. There was nothing to stop her, as the woman just felt like she was ready for anything.. and anyone of course.

''Oh? Gonna bother Ricard now?''
Ricard held in a huff of annoyance as his eldest sister arrived and proceeded to ruffle his hair. Why she insisted on acting like he was still five years old, he couldn't imagine. In fairness, he sometimes treated some of the younger Leonhardt siblings similarly but they were all still squires or barely knights or even adults in their own right. And he didn't do it in the middle of a public event with hordes of the common-folk streaming in and gawking at them. Goddesses, Kethel had no sense of time and place sometimes.
Not that he disliked his eldest sister; He loved her as much as he loved any of his siblings. But he'd never do half the brazen things she did without a second thought; Like embark on "quests" to god knows where for however long she felt like. Must be nice, not having a care in the world about the Kingdom. Oh well, he wouldn't sour the mood with such thoughts: It was one of the few occasions he had to converse with his elder sisters.
"Another trip, Kethel? If I didn't know better, I'd say you don't like being around us."
He teased, though a tiny part of him may have meant it seriously. No, no, none of that. Time and place. Usually he wouldn't even call them by name in such a public area during an event, certainly not his elder siblings. But calling them both "Sister" would be far too problematic and confusing, so he wouldn't even bother trying.
He nodded briefly in acknowledgement as Einnashe approached and bowed to the Queen. Since he was not directly spoken too, he would wait for the Queen or Kethel, whomever she was referring to, to respond to her question before interjecting. He returned her friendly smile with a polite one; He was friendly terms with the Royal Guard- He actually quite liked her, objectively speaking. She was efficient and did her job exceptionally well, and looked after his sister and nieces. That alone was enough to earn Ricard's respect and comradery.
Let's have have some fun, why don't you take a ride?
Tion let out a loud yawn. He was tiiiired. Or maybe he was just bored? Who knew? Anyway he hadn't done much of anything today and though he wanted to go out and hit the flirty bars. Something just kept him from doing that. Maybe it was just the pure laziness of the day, or just him being in a weird mood. Most likely the latter, as he was also acting a bit strangely as he wandered the large halls of his castle. Maybe it wasn't that strange, maybe he was just enjoying a nice walk. Today was different for sure.
But after wandering for awhile he ended up stumbling upon his wife and some of her family and... the head guard or something. To be honest he didn't really care. As long as things where okay, he'd learn when he needed to. So he rubbed the back of his head and waved at everyone, wondering what exactly was going on. "Hello everyone!" He spoke happily.
Tion WAS able to act kingly but under family and such people he didn't see why he had too. he let out another yawn. "What's up with the party that's going on here...?" He asked walking over to his wife. Man, she was still so beautiful even after all this time and god he just wanted to make love to her then and there, but sadly others where around, and Tion could be a little perverted but he didn't appreciate observers. Shrugging he leaned back against the wall. "Something going on?"
