To Cadenza’s panicked voice, Flora just casually reveals her wounds while saying with a faint smile,
''It's not very pleasant is it? To find out that I was injured despite what I said.''
Cadenza cannot believe what she has heard. How can Flora be that nonchalant about her lies? Does she not regret that she has lied? Does she think it was not a lie? Or....
Slowly, unwittingly, Cadenza feels a strange anger boiling inside her, filling her with a fiery glow. Still glaring at Flora’s smiling face, she opens her mouth to speak, but is interrupted by Flora. ''After all, you're more upset now then if I told you when it happened. You found out anyways; and lies are like that.”
Frustrated tears start to well up in Cadenza’s ruby eyes, but not one of them falls. Flora admitted that she has lied, and she even knows that Cadenza would be upset. Why did she hide it then? What if the injury has been much more serious? Would she still hide it even if she is inches away from dying? Would not she think of Cadenza’s feelings then, and of Leon too?
Cadenza cannot understand. She would never understand.
But that is perhaps one of Cadenza’s most obvious flaws. The Songstress has spent too much time telling stories of others. Too focused in describing others flaws and glories that she rarely takes a time to look into a mirror and asks herself,
“How would my story be? What are my flaws and what are my glories?”
Thus, she never cares what she herself has done, and its implications to others. She is strangely loyal yet secretive, both helpful and selective at the same time.
In short, Cadenza can be likened to a convict that always convicts other people, not knowing that she is a convict herself.
And Flora mercilessly continues.
“Lying is not something a friend does to another.”
And then she drops her skirt, and covers her wounds, just like that. Acting as if nothing has happened.
That, is the last straw.
Cadenza’s throat finds her voice at last. She lets it out slowly, feeling her body trembling in the process.
“You...you know that friends should not lie to each other...”
Cadenza does not want it to happen, resisting with all her might. Still, her furs are visibly shaking in anger.
“You know about it...yet...”
Yet she lied. Yet she did not answer her truthfully. This Flora Lasola, whom Cadenza has trusted for all these days, whom Cadenza has regarded as a friend, lied to her so casually, despite all her worries. Despite her obvious care for her. Despite Cadenza’s viewing of her as her friend.
What is she, then, a stranger not worthy of trust?
Unintentionally, Cadenza’s voice starts to rise. As she speaks, her usual small voice is gradually turning into high-pitched shriek.
Before she knows it, she is already screaming her heart out,
“...yet you lied to me when I asked you! Yet you lied to us all! And you know it and not feeling sorry at all! Just what...just what do you think, Flora?! What is your intention?! Are you sad now that we have known?! Do you regret now that I have found out?! Then regret it as much as you want!"
Cadenza cannot stop. She cannot even think of stopping. Flora’s injury is not very serious, she knows it. But what upsets her the most is Flora’s obvious lie and her hiding of things, and how she did that casually without apparent regrets. That is unbearable for Cadenza, the Lone Songstress. She continues her flurry of words, leaving not a second for Flora to answer.
“You...you said it yourself that lying is not something a friend does. You said it yourself that lies will upset them. Then...then...then what are we to you, Flora? Are we strangers to you? Are we Enemies? Why did you cover it up? Do you not think we are your friends? Do you not think that I am your friend?! If just this obvious wound you already keep hidden, then what about other things?! What about bigger, more serious things?! What...what was it that we talked about achieving our dreams? What was it about friends share their burden? Was it all a lie!? Was it not our concern then, was it not my concern then, about anything that happens to you?! No, it is not mine is it not? You...you would rather hide everything from us until the last minute. You would rather burden everything until I find you dead! Fine! Do it! We are not trusted enough to help with bruises on your knees, how can we be trusted for anything more than that? Well, I would gladly tell you, Flora Lasola, that you are right! What you said were absolutely right! That was not pleasant, that was upsetting, and that was something a friend should have never done! That is right, Flora! Smile, keep your wounds to yourself, and we would never care! We are not trusted enough to be your friend anyway. That is what you want, is it not?”
Cadenza breaths deeply, shaking, still glaring fiercely at Flora, refusing to listen any of her answer, if she answered at all. In her fury she does not even remember that she herself is injured. That she herself has contradicted all her words. No, all that matters now for Cadenza is the upsetting fact that her trusted friend has lied to her so blatantly.
In fact, if she does not consider Flora as her friend, she would never get this angry.
Cadenza would surely continue venting her disappointment if not for the purple Picori. The small creature ran to Cadanza and puts a hand on her back and lightly pushes her.
"Come on, are you ok? I don't wanna have to poke each of your bones until you say ow to find out. We'll get you fixed up if you need it."
“I do not need it!”
Cadenza shouts out loud, trying to push the purple Picori away from her. She would not admit it, not in this state of anger. Not before Flora’s injury is fixed first.
But she should not have shouted at the Picori. He was just trying to help.
Realizing her mistake, Cadenza adds in softer tone, almost apologizing. “It...it is Flora’s knees that should be treated. I am fine. Please just...get away from me.”
That time, a small drop of tear falls to Leon’s hand. An angry, mixed tear that the purple mouse has stubbornly held to herself, doing much like the one she is being angry at right now.
Cadenza: ProfileCharacter Tracker Plot Progression : Heart of a Child (Kokiri Forest), Conversations (Kokiri Forest), A New World (West Clock Town) Tags: LEON @flora @mrlazebones Personal Notes: I do hope I got the drama right, I am sorry. Cadenza's angry words is honestly one of the hardest writings I have ever written. Two friends thinking each has betrayed the other....Is this the end of their friendship? :-) Leon, whether Cadenza would follow Leon and Echi would depend on Flora I think. In my opinion she does not seem very injured.... Although I think it would be better for Cadenza and Flora to have some private time to sort their difference first before both of them being worried and chase after Leon and Echi. But Cadenza would surely sing for Leon when he battles :-)
Flora saw the emotions she had been giving Cadenza. But.. there was something stronger right now; the determination to keep their friendship by showing Cadenza something she was doing. Flora herself could feel the unsettled emotion in her chest; pain and regret. Cadenza seemed to be really hurt; and that made her sad of course. It was her fault; but she had to be strong, in order to.. to not let something happen. right? Cadenza's entire self seemed to be shaken; the guilt that churned inside of Flora was immense. But closing her eyes, she had to remember their journey, their bond; she had to remember why she had done such a terrible thing, despite being disgusted with herself. She had to keep that in mind, first and foremost.
So when Cadenza spoke angry words at her, Flora let her hair drop in front of her face, hiding her features in it's shadows. She deserved every angry word. She didn't even want to answer, letting the small mouse hammer her with a flurry of words; the words not scathing, but upset. Hurt. Flora knew that; understood that, as she let the creature vent out; could Cadenza not even see what she herself was doing? Could she not understand the lesson? The reactions, from the very actions she took, Flora could conclude that no, she did not understand. She did not even acknowledge it in any manner, and that was before the emotions. Flora's hands tightened into her skirt; something stirred into her heart.
Like something had awakened. But she still kept quiet, until the shrieking had died down. But hearing the refusal of help, this made the girl's hands tighten further. She could peek under her bangs, and saw Cadenza's small body; and knew she was probably crying. But something inside of Flora was stirring; changing. There had been a lot of adventures, and things that Flora had to face; from a small Kokiri that knew nothing, to come into this world and try to survive.. it was harder. She had been a happy go lucky innocent child. She had daydreamed of following her dear Atoli, but never dared, scared of the world outside. But the soft song, the soft melody of the mouse had lifted that veil; and birthed something that day.
''Cadenza.'' came Flora's voice. It was soft, gentle, but there was something.. almost alarming in it. Something almost cold, uncaring, and yet there was a repressed anger and sadness that decorated the tone; and the songstress would surely pick up on such minute changes of the voice. ''I cannot apologize. I will not. Do you know why, Cadenza? Because you are being a hypocrite. You heard me. You're injured. You aren't moving as you normally do; I can tell that much, spending so much time with you. So before you go and try to scold me, do please be the preacher and practice by example.'' she said simply. No berating words, no angry triabe. Just a calm, and yet dangerous voice.
It would probably be the first time for Leon to hear this voice as well. But Flora still, would not show her face, not giving them any clue to her expression. All she could do was control her breath and voice; that should more then likely work for the current situation. Even as she felt something.. she wasn't sure. Her entire world felt unsure right now, because she wanted Cadenza to truly realize WHY Flora had done this, and be able to move forward.. after all, if you didn't learn.. Flora had to learn that on this journey. And so should Cadenza. But the Kokiri was worried about everything; she kept her emotions down for right now, because she didn't want to lose something.. she had to fight herself to help a friend.
And she would always do it, because Flora loved her friends very, very deeply.

Echi was rather spooked by the mouse shoving him and telling him to back off. Even if she was a mouse she was still easily four times his size. Echi fell backwards flailing his arms as he tried his best to keep his balance. "Eep!" Echi didn't get up. Flora had begun speaking and he found himself listening to her words. Towards the end he folded his arms across his chest and frowned. He didn't like this. The two of them were creating a lot of unhappy drama. Echi preferred it when everyone was happy and calm. Maybe not calm but at least happy.
Jumping back up to his feet with a "hup!" Echi looked at the two females. "Hey! You both need to just calm down. Well actually you seem pretty calm, Flora was it? Nice name. But YOU miss mouse need to calm dodown and not push people around. Specifically me cause I'm the only one smaller than you. We're all together now, we should calm down and all be happy and smiling and eating sweets!" Echi raised his hands into the air when he said sweets for emphasis. "Sometimes friends lie to each other because they think it'll keep the other person from getting hurt or upset and sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. It's better to lie with the intention to protect than it is to lie with the intention of harm. And there is a difference!" Echi crossed his arms again and looked to Cadanza. "Lying doesn't always hold the intention of harm. Some people lie to someone they love more than anything, because they think it might be better for them if they didn't know. It doesn't matter that you lied if it was to try and keep someone you care about happy. Because making others Happy and keeping them happy is the best feeling in the world." Echi smiled warmly at the mouse and felt the sudden urge to give her a hug. Talking about happiness did that to him sometimes. Decieding that a hug might make her feel better, Echi went with his urge and gently hugged her warm fuzzy body, trying to be careful not to hurt her. "The best world is one made of love and peace."
Leon felt lost. In the middle of a fight between swords he always knew what to do, but between two friends.. Leon knew they shouldn't be fighting, the pain in Floras voice made his heart ache. The young swordsman knew he had to say something, anything, to help his friends. He leaned down and began with "Cadenza, you.." but was caught off guard by a scream.
Leon spun, and saw a boy. He was no taller than Leon with medium length black hair. He wore a red kokiri tunic but, he couldn't be a kokiri could he? His arm was outstretched towards a shop, its windows shattered, its interior burning. He glared right at Leon with a maddening smile.
His voice was deeper then a childs voice should have been, more commanding. but something about it chilled the white-haired boy to the core. And all the red-clothed kokiri said was, "I FOUND YOU!" as he leveled his hand, and an angry red bolt of energy shot towards Leon. All Leon could do was extend his arm, tossing Cadenza and Echi towards some luggage as he stood protectively in front of Flora. The only thought racing through his mind, was this the end?
@Flora @cadenza @echi
AN: And the friends are interupted by a malevolent figure! Will our heroes overcome this obstacle? Will Leon live to finally figure out what it means to have friends? Will Echi EVER get candy?
Now that she has stopped speaking, the pain in the sides of her chest started to sting again, stopping her halfway in her breathing. It really should not have been very dangerous, but it seems that Cadenza has overexerted herself.
Then again, it does not hurt as much as the painful regret that is tearing her heart right now.
Cadenza looks downward towards Leon’s hand, unable to lift her face for a moment. Why did she have to say those harsh things? Why did she have to shout? Seeing Flora hid her face when she hammered her with her words did not induce Cadenza’s pity at all. But now as she is breathing heavily and letting her hold tears roll, she feels the sharp fangs of guilt jamming deep inside her.
She should not have said that, in such a loud voice. She has publicly shamed herself, and her kin.
But, has it not always the way it is?
Thinking back, Cadenza is not angry as an angry is. No. She only feels worried. Worried and betrayed. She is like a mother who would scold her children who crossed a street carelessly, berating her children far more harshly that she would if a stranger crossed the street in the same carelessness.
Why? Because, her children is important for her. Far more important than a stranger would. And so is Flora for Cadenza right now.
Thankfully Flora is stronger than Cadenza thought.
Instead of withering away as Cadenza thinks she used to do, Flora starts to speak, and Cadenza quickly lifts her snout and stare right back at her. Whatever the excuse be, Cadenza was, and still, feels betrayed. Flora speaks in a gentle tone, almost even. But to Cadenza, she can painfully hear a strong feeling behind it.
A feeling not much different than her own. ''Cadenza, I cannot apologize. I will not. Do you know why, Cadenza? Because you are being a hypocrite. You heard me. You're injured. You aren't moving as you normally do; I can tell that much, spending so much time with you. So before you go and try to scold me...”
Flora is speaking more words. But Cadenza is only half-listening afterward, staring emptily at Flora’s hidden visage. She stops at a word spoken by Flora.
You are being a hypocrite
Thinking...that she would hear it spoken again in such a place. Unwittingly, unknowingly, the bright air of Termina station starts blurring into another light.
A happy light.
“You are being a hypocrite”
There was a soft voice. And a smile. And two playful eyes. A soft pat to a head.
Another smile.
“Are we not all a hypocrite?”
“I do hope we are not”
There was a soft laugh, and a sigh, with another smile. A body lying down to rest. “Would you please play it to me once again?”
A finger picking strings, and a clear crystal tune hanging in the air.
It ended with a teasing voice.
“Only if you ask for it”
“....We're all together now, we should calm down and all be happy and smiling and eating sweets!" The Picori emphasizes it by raising his hand.
Cadenza does her best to stop an apologizing smile appearing. This Picori is a lively fellow, and Cadenza finds herself absorbed into his passionate speech, unable to talk back.
“....Some people lie to someone they love more than anything, because they think it might be better for them if they didn't know. It doesn't matter that....”
It is true is it not? Flora is worried at Cadenza, just as much as Cadenza worries about Flora. Then, is Cadenza intention about not worrying Flora ended up only backfiring in the end?
It is only right for a friend to be open to each other. Cadenza knows this. But as she shivers a bit at the alien sensation of a the male Picori’s hug, she hears the words spoken back right at her.
Cadenza gently tries to push away the Picori, nodding in thanks to his gesture. She shifts her gaze at Flora again.
As she let another tear rolls down, somehow, Cadenza knows that Flora has hurt herself more than she hurt Cadenza. And that is exactly the same with Cadenza.
But still, “Flora, you...you really should not worry about me. I would be...fine in a very short time. Even more...”
She hesitates. Should she? “And you have to know...I...I am...” “...I am not...important enough.”
In the end, Cadenza can only tell half the truth.
Suddenly, Leon’s hand tensed and Cadenza feels her world rapidly shifting. She can only hear a spell being activated and a loud voice ringing in the air. Her right side hits something, hard, and she feels the sharp pain jabbing her violently, stopping her shriek. Her sight blurred with a sudden surge of tears, Cadenza still manages to open her eyes and look at Leon’s direction
However, knowing Flora, Cadenza is genuinely scared of what she would see.

Flora's heart felt like it was tearing apart. Didn't anyone realize how she felt? The emotions that were running through her own body? She bit her lip, hard. Didn't they understand? Why was everyone trying to pass it off as something Flora was just, not feeling! They didn't know exactly what the Kokiri girl was feeling or exactly what she wanted to do. She felt her small body tremble, and she couldn't even understand the exact nature of what she had to do to make them get it! The sadness inside of Flora's heart was overwhelming, as she felt her teeth dash into her lower lip more. To the point of pain; but to Flora, the pain was nothing. It was nothing compared to what was inside.
The pain inside was overwhelming. It made her senses go still and numb; it made her heart beat in pain. But she would not show them that weakness; she had to be unapproachable, in order to make it come across. Her point that was. The small creature, Echi, spoke loudly, trying to get the two to reason. But Flora knew that it would not reach Cadenza; her heart was to stone, and Flora had to imitate that stone in order to break it. Perhaps when Cadenza saw the very things she herself did, felt the pain that she had, perhaps then the mouse would understand. Something was odd with this; Flora knew that normally she would have not held.. such determination towards something like this.
It was frightening, to see the very evidence of her changing. But there was something much, much more important then that; Cadenza's possibilities to change. She would never find her path if she didn't open up! The girl knew that the best, as her body was shaking, but imperceptibly. The small creature touched exactly on what Cadenza was doing; would she realize her mistake? He was such a small thing.. so enthusiastic and gentle. Flora could appreciate that; but she wasn't even sure Cadenza would follow that lead; would understand the path that Flora was wrenching open for the mouse. The Kokiri girl knew that it would never solve like this, that nothing would ever be set right like this; and she had to walk down that path, to play all the roles.
Only she would save Cadenza from herself.
The girl fought to keep the emotions off her body. She couldn't hide them on her face anymore. Flora understood her choices; she perhaps had to tell Cadenza what she had done. She wanted to speak to the mouse; her dearest companion to the very bottom of her soul. But yet... she spoke first. Spoke of not worrying, spoke of how easily she would be healed. That was not the point! The point was how much it hurt to keep it from her! The other didn't realize that and that made Flora sad, even more so. The mouse even hesitated in her speech; and Flora understood something, just before Cadenza said it.
Cadenza did not see herself as important.
But the scream interrupted her thoughts, her very self. Instinct, and will were two very powerful things; they drove the impulses and how much effect they had over someone. But Flora.. there was something that within Flora, she knew. She couldn't stay back, as her body bolted forward; she may not be the speediest of Kokiri, but she wanted to guard Cadenza, Echi and Leon. Watching Leon toss Cadenza and Echi to the side, she knew he would try to guard her. It was just the type of thing Leon would do, would try to accomplish. But he had no idea of what was next. Of what Flora herself had planned to do, from the moment she was aware.
Her small hands grabbed Leon, and with adrenaline infused strength, shoved him violently to the other side; her own hand stretched out, and for the first time in a while, her face was visible. The mark of tears was evident; more were flowing down the sides of her face; and blood was on her lip, showing she had bit it to the point of bleeding. But there was a different expression on her face; an expression of not pity, but of pure strength. Of bravery, and unyielding will; and from her hands, petals danced, lashing out towards the enemy; however, Flora knew that would not stop the red bolt. If it passed her? It would hit Cadenza and Echi. So without hesitation, Flora did the one thing she could.
She used her very own self as a shield.
Her body took the red bolt head on; it smashed into Flora's small body, but she did not fly off like most would expect; she stood her ground, feeling the pain lash through her. But she could only hold it for a moment, her body tumbling away. She was unaware of the scream of pain that had left her mouth, as she had collapsed somewhere near the two. Feeling a benevolent smile on her face, she looked up to Cadenza, smiling. Or rather, where she thought the mouse was. She was still crying; wasn't that pathetic? But she couldn't leave the words she wanted to say unsaid.. she couldn't. For Cadenza's sake.
''I'm sorry Cad.. I'm sorry.. I just wanted to become the mirror.. to show you what you were doing.. so that if you felt sad.. or angry.. that you would change yourself.. to change that mirror. I'm sorry Cad.. I love you..'' she muttered softly, her voice becoming more and more quiet, as finally, the world became black. Her body slumped, falling over in a pattern; but anyone looking at the girl would think she was dying perhaps. There was blood; from her mouth, her knees, and even where the bolt had hit her, there was blood, and wounds. The girl was bleeding, it was no surprise she passed out; much blood had been lost. But yet, her body was feeling a bit colder then normal, enough cause for alarm.
And Flora would be unable to console them after what had happened to her. The best she could hope for was that they took care of her, instead of hunting down the enemy and leaving her to truly die. Flora could only hope they would not give in.. if only for her immediate sake.

Echi's eyes widened as he felt himself start flying through the air. He could hear a crackle of magic and turned his head to the source. Someone was attacking them! He quickly brought up his hand to launch a fireball to intercept it, but before he could Flora used herself as a sheild. "No!" He saw the kokiri fall and felt fiery rage build up in him. He focused again after landing and fired his spell at the attacker. "HOW DARE YOU!?" He leapt from the luggage, his body expanding into it's fox form as he ran at the attacker. "You won't get away with this!!"
Leon felt like calling out, but no one would hear him. He was falling into black darkness. Swirling and black, he fell into the darkest reaches of his being. He felt there was no use living. The one person he swore he would protect, was limp in his arms. The white-haired boy had caught her as she fell. He had heard her cry, and her words. Leon only felt emptiness now. Cold, black emptiness.
Damion glanced at the fox currently latched to his arm. He snapped his arm back in attempt to send it flying. The dark-haired Kokiri looked at the boy, who was holding that idiotic girl. "Hmph. I guess you'r not him. I guess there is no reason for me to stay in this shitty place." He turned and began walking towards the city exit. He stopped suddenly, and turned to Leon, smiling. "If You want to avenge her, meet me in the temple that will rise in a few hours time. I had fun playing with you, so don't die too quickly." Damion laughed and continued, walking out of sight to Termina Field.
Leon's tears streamed down his face. He couldn't do anything. He couldn't protect Flora. He may as well go home. He looked down at Flora and noticed, with a jolt, She was still breathing! Leon, picked her up quickly and as gently as he could. He had to get her to a doctor!
At that moment, swift and sure like forest wind,The Kokiri girl suddenly stands at the place where the white haired boy was a second before, shoving him aside.
The red bolt flashes, a fiery snake of hatred, slamming its way right into the middle of the girl’s small body.
Blood spurts.
“No...”
But the girl does not flinch, or taking even a little step backward. A painful scream escapes from her lips, but no more than that.
Instead, she is smiling.
“No...”
And whispering. And crying. And blindly searching for her companion amidst a sight blurred by tears.
While her companion can only watches in terror.
“...Flora...”
And then she falls as quickly, slumping down to the ground. Wounded and hurt. But firm and unmoving.
Unmoving.
It is the shortest, yet the most terrible nightmare for Cadenza.
She crawls to the silent figure of her friend, gasping with each of her steps. She does not scream nor shouts, but is instead numbed by disbelief. With every breath her chest felt torn, and with every movement the loose pieces of her ribs mercilessly stabs her deeper. But she pays no heed, and has nothing left to heed for.
Half-blinded with pain and half-dying from shock, she drags her body toward the figure of her friend, held between the arms of the boy she wanted to protect.
The boy she foolishly wanted to protect. “Flora...”
Trembling, her snout softly touches the limp arm of the Kokiri girl, lightly bruising her skin in a vain hope of waking her. Her sight is now filled with the undeniable pain Flora had submitted herself into.
And an undeniable pain the mirror inside her projected itself.
Her voice breaks.
“...Flora...please do not go...”
She grazes her again with her furry shoulder. Once. Twice. Thrice. Wishing that the warm pain inside her can somehow fill her friend with another kind of warmth, a warmth to light her eyes again.
But the blood would not stop
And so is their pain.
“...Please do not go...you said...”
At this moment, even Cadenza’s tears have stopped flowing.
Even they are too frightened to appear. Even they have chosen to stay silent and hide in the corners of her eye, leaving her to face the reality alone.
For what is the value of tears from a false friend?
Nothing.
And they knew it.
In that awful recognition, Cadenza can only stutters the words that were spoken before, relentlessly. Spoken before to the other from another.
A merciless circle.
“Do not die on me...please...I...I promise I will make it up to you...”
What if, Flora never wakes up again, and that her last feeling for Cadenza is that she felt betrayed by her? What if she goes and the last thing she heard from Cadenza is those harsh and unforgiving words she screamed into her face? What if they can never speak to each other again, and the last memory for both of them are lies and half-truths? What if Cadenza is never allowed a chance to say her sorry, while Flora already did?
And if that really happens, can Cadenza really take this situation?
This exact same situation, all over again?
“Do not leave me Flora...I am sorry....”
She is foolish. She is unimportant. And she never learns.
And she knows it, feeling it fully inside her.
Yet she keeps doing it anyway. Without knowing why or trying to understand why.
She closes her eyes and puts his small head on Flora’s arm, sobbing silently, feeling her conviction leaving her. A sharp voice fills her mind.
That queen was right. She should have listened to her advice a long time ago.
And thread her path like she is supposed to do.
“I am sorry...I am sorry...I...I do not want this again...Lady Es-...”
"Hmph. I guess you're not him. I guess there is no reason for me to stay in this shitty place." "If You want to avenge her, meet me in the temple that will rise in a few hours time. I had fun playing with you, so don't die too quickly."
Cadenza’s head rises, slowly like a disturbed snake, but shaking like a frozen one. Her sight blurred from tears and regrets.
Play? Could this all be just for fun for him?
Cadenza watches the Kokiri as he effortlessly swipe the puple Picori away and continues his steps.
Could this pain for Flora, for Leon, and for the thrown Picori, be nothing but for fun?
Something familiar build up inside her, filling her mind and her voice with a solid emotion over this unlawful conduct.
But not an anger. It is more of a despair. A despair for something she cannot change. A despair for something that she choose not to change.
After all, if you feel you need it, should you not cling to it with warmest welcome, rather than shove it away in fear of farewell? Is this not what The Deku Tree said to her?
And Cadenza has chosen not to change.
Beside her, Leon recognizes something and hurriedly wraps his hand around Flora. Cadenza notices a sight of relief and hope, and she feels something heavy lifted from her.
Flora will survive. She has to believe in that.
But her attacker...that would be another story.
Watching the back of the red-clothed Kokiri disappearing among the unnoticing crowds, Cadenza feels all her pain and regrets accumulating behind her lips, and her own conviction moving her tongue. She does not know what or why she said them, only that she wants.
Fortunately, neither Leon nor Echi would be close enough to hear what she said. And it is good, for her hissing words are seething with spite and venom, lashing like an angry centipede to the faraway figure.
And her sobbing voice is not her Mouse Form anymore, as she whispers The Verses of Black Rot.
"Thousand curses upon you, and more Pain and suffering for you, and worse The Black One shall find you, by the verse Of Four Eternal Shadows. I open the door!
Peace you never be, rest you cannot Hide you will sought, but futile still For you are marked, and never will Find solace from our eyes. Us of Black Rot!"
