Perhaps her favorite days, were the days where Noah had nothing to do at all. Sure, she loved sifting through caves and other caverns, but sometimes it got so tiring. Exploring was even more work than she had expected. That was why she liked days where she could just amble along on Cyprus's back, her broadsword strapped to her back and not being overworked. She still had to worry about someone trying to plunder her squandering pile of Rupees, which sat in a bag at her hip, but it wasn't too bad. Not many people wanted to deal with her on horseback, as she fondly recalled with a blank, goody expression on her face.
Ah yes, just last week in fact. She had just come back from exploring when she was accosted by two thugs, who had commented that she had a very feminine physique for a dude and though she could not pin them for the comment about looking feminine, she could do what she did next. Yes indeed no one liked an angry young guy thundering after them on the back of a large horse, with his sword swinging from the steed's side. Indeed, it had not been a really good day for those two. But she knew full well that if she had been attacked by them and she hadn't been on Cyprus, she wouldn't have fared as well.
Now she and Cyprus had just found their way into Clock Town. She never knew why, but in whatever town she had been in, there were always dogs and cats everywhere. Some owned, some strays, but did people really allow the population of animals to become that out of control? Thankfully though, most of the dogs were small, and were no threat to Cyprus. That was good, because big dogs baring their teeth at him was one thing that spooked Cyprus the most. His hooves clapped against the pavement and Noah happened to like the rhythmic clapping sound that they made.
Tying Cyprus up to a post outside the bar, Noah made sure his saddle bags were tied up tight before giving him a pat on the flank. The Milk Bar out of every place she could go, was possibly her favorite.Taking a seat at the bar itself, Noah spoke directly to the bartender.
"One Regular Milk please." She said, placing a few Rupees down on the counter. The bartender gave her a once over.
"Wouldn't you like to try out Chateau Romani?" Noah leaned in a bit closer to him, looking around to make sure no one could hear her aside from the bartender.
"Does it look like I'm the type of guy who can afford Chateau Romani?" The Bartender frowned, seeming as if he was hesitating to say what he wanted to next.
"But you don't look like...any kind of guy..." Feeling her blood pressure rise a bit, Noah slammed her hands down on the table.
"I have delicate features!" The Bartender blinked at her, and Noah sighed in total defeat.
"I-Nh...just get me the milk please."
"Yes sir." She leaned back into a relaxed position, taking her milk as he brought it to her and taking a more than relaxing sip.
If it weren't for the sudden roar of laughter that followed afterward, one might have thought either a bar fight had come to life, or someone had actually managed to get drunk. No. Instead there was the wild barreling of a grown, particularly thick, man smashing into one of the stools of the barcounter--Obviously looking a cross between awe stricken and embarassed. There were cups, spoons, and forks littering away from in a trail toward his previous position...and...
A very shocked looking girl sitting on a chair just next to the recently flipped table.
The bartender groaned, and yelled out," Will you idiots quit horse-playing around?! Do I need to kick you jerks out of the bar?!"
The laughter kept rolling, however...and with it a cheesy grin crossed the young gril's lips as she glanced around, noting the various men surrounding her. Some of which ruffled her hair, and others that joked about 'Clock Town's strongest'. She of course didn't appear to know what to do with herself in the situation...she still looked rather stunned, but at least everything seemed to be well.
"Hah hah hah," one of the larger men laughed," That's another 10 Rupee, Larry! I told you, but you just don't seem to like to listen!"
"This has gotta be rigged...How on earth?"
The girl slowly got up from her seat and made her way toward the man still lying rather awkwardly against the bar-counter. She knelt down next to the guy, her smile melting into something awkward, and spoke gently," A-Are you okay, Sir?"
"Feeh...I'll be alright. Just my pride, Lass.", the man replied.
The bartender rolled his eyes and went back to washing glasses," Aria! If you're done playing games, you can pick up that mess you just made and get back to work!"
"Y-Yes! Sorry, Sir! I'm back to work, Sir!", she'd yelp before quickly moving to pick up the mess she'd made.

Of course, she was used to the normal muss and fuss of the milk bar. Every once in a while a group of ruffians would come in and muck up the place. She always kept her sword strapped to her back, in plain view, just to try and ward off any strange attackers. But she tried to reinforce the straps, which rested under her arms, to make sure that no one could come and snatch it off her back. She took another sip of her drink as she eyed the laughing crew of large men, who seemed to be merrily but noisily enjoying themselves. It was, actually kind of annoying.
She turned her attention for a moment so she could stare outside the window, leaning on her palm. She could see Cyprus from here, probably sloppily enjoying a drink himself from the water trough. They had been on the move a lot lately though, so it wasn't exactly like she blamed the poor horse, he was probably super exhausted. She'd have to treat him to some super fine hay or something. Did they even make fine hay like that? Well she'd just have to check at some point. She took another quick sip of her milk, enjoying the soothing effect it had as it slid down her throat.
It was in the next instant that a table came crashing to the floor, along with several glasses and dishes. Noah sighed. Did the brutes really have to break everything they touched. She pretended to look disinterested at what was going on, going as far and to swallow down the rest of her glass. She noticed a kind seeming waitress had come to one of the men's aid. She even got wind of the Batender's loud voice. Placing her glass roughly down on the table, she jumped off her bar stool.
"Do you Morons really need to go around rough-housing in a place like this? You create more work for them then you actually give them business, and you-" She motioned, turning on the bartender. "Do you need to both confuse my gender and shout so loud? Seriously what kind of business are you trying to run here?" She asked, crossing her arms rather loosely.
"Besides, the lady over there was just sittin' there minding her own business, weren't you?" She asked, this time directing her attention to the Waitress attending to the mess. She would have moved to help her, but she was keeping her eyes on the group of men, wary of any particularly angry ones. In a big group of roughnecks like this, you never knew if one was looking for a fight. But the first thing on her mind right now, was how much she could hurt her throat sometimes trying to keep the stern, male tone that she tried to uphold.
"...Eh?", the woman's expression instantly filled with confusion. Slowly, though, her expression glew with comprehension, then colored with embarrassment. An awkward smile peeked from her expression and she scratched her right cheek idly,"...Well I wasn't. I don't really have one. Might be fun to have one eventually though!..A-A business I mean~."
After the moment of confused air lifted from the bar, a roar of laughter followed. Granted this roar wasn't as powerful as before. There was still an air of confusion about--but obviously something was hilarious.
Even the man laying on his back next to the bar-stools was chuckling a little...When he got up he gave this boy a strange look and clicked his tongue," You must be one of those serious types...Ain't got no fun in yeh. Well whatever, don't go worrying about this lass. She's doing right."
The bartender raised a brow at the 'young boy'...well actually he had his assumptions. He wasn't sure what to call this one, but he...The elder bartender shook his head of it. He'd been around long enough to know that it all didn't matter. Granted, he'd also been around the block enough times to know better--special thanks to the venue he worked.
"I think you're better off drinking your milk, Kid.", he'd finally say, firmly--though with understanding clear in his tone,"Anyway...Aria. Clean up your mess and start handling orders."
"Hey! Whoah there! We really letting him just talk his smack? Boy just called us morons for noth'n. "
"Lerry, don't get hot. You lost a little money. Ain't no sense in taking it out on a kid that don't know no better. You don't wanna get flung like Tom did, do ya?"
"Tch...Feeeeh. Maybe a fight wouldn't be so bad after all, though."
"Heheh! You serious, mate? Come on! Let's do some more arm wrestle'n instead, yeah? Maybe if you bet on yourself y'll have a better chance! Hahahaha!"
Aria looked up while she moved various cups and glasses from the floor to the barcounter, and started moving for the silverware. She watched the men talking carefully...and glanced back at the boy that'd sounded like he'd been defending her, or trying to. Blushing slightly in embarrassment she stood and placed all the silverware she'd picked up on the counter. A soft glance back at the men, whom were setting the table right, and then back at the boy let her get her words straight in her head.
"Uhhh...Thanks for earlier. It really wasn't their fault though. Sorry for all the noise...", Aria apologized.

Listening to the laughter she had gotten in return for her actions, she had honestly expected no less from a bunch of roughnecks. She felt about ready to pull her sword from its place strapped on her back and start swinging. But she knew that, she was a lot better than they were. Hell, she wasn't even a man, but she still knew that all men didn't act like complete idiots. Some people, were a lot more civilized. So she let it go. When the bartender told her she was better off drinking her milk, she sort of sneered at him.
"And you'd be better off doing your job right, not telling me what to do." She answered, hopping back up onto her chair. She leaned back against the bar, fiddling with the empty milk glass for a bit as she stared blandly across the room. Maybe she would have been more threat-inducing if she did look like a man. She had the attitude, to be able to talk to a bunch of guys that size the way she did, and she was pretty positive it wasn't just bravado. She meant everything she said, and she didn't put up a ruse just to impress people.
But Rune knew better than anyone she wasn't able to help who she was, so how she looked didn't matter to her. She was sure that someday, she'd be strong enough where she wouldn't need a man's look to scare people. A woman could be just as strong as any man, after all. She didn't put any restrictions on people because of gender-- unlike most people she knew. She closed her eyes and relaxed against the back of the bar, but she didn't get to for long, because the voice belonging to the only known female in the bar at the moment had suddenly come to her side. She opened her eyes and looked firmly back at her.
"Their fault or not they really shouldn't be making such noise in a bar. It really disrupts the peace." She answered, looking back out the window momentarily just to make sure that her trusty steed was still there, and hadn't galloped away after breaking his ropes- that had happened once, sadly enough. "Plus yelling at a lady isn't right no matter what the case. But you're welcome." She responded, crossing her legs one over the other. "But your welcome." She looked from the waitress, to her empty milk glass and sighed. "My name is Noah and I hate to be a bother, but would you mind getting another glass of milk for me miss..um..." She left an obvious pause, hoping that the girl would be able to fill the blanks for her.
Aria smiled and shrugged gently. She didn't mind the noise after all---rather she preferred it to the dead quiet of a slow day. Noise meant that everyone was having a good time. Not that she'd say these things to Noah. Surely he had his own opinions, and it was probably better to just leave his alone. Even if she was a little curious.
Suddenly drawn from her own thoughts, she jumped as if poked with a cattle prod,"Oh! Right! One glass of milk coming right up!"
After exclaiming so she'd quickly dash back behind the counter and moved to handle one of the milk jugs. When the bartender saw this he yelped and quickly moved in her direction. One grab of the shoulder was to stop her---and when she stopped she looked up at him wide eyed. The Bartender smiled in amusement and moved to handle the jug for her...rather worried about what would happen if he dared to allow Aria to handle such an amount of merchanise all on her own. He went about pouring the drink in a freshly cleaned glass, and passed it over to her before going back to cleaning.
When Aria had it in her hands, it was just as easy as turning around to place the glass of milk in front of Noah, and taking his empty glass to wash it.
"Please enjoy your milk!", she'd exclaim before moving to wash the glass almost on a dime.
Then she paused like she was struck by lightning.
"I was...supposed to do something. Eeeh...? I didn't forget a step...Get a new glass. Use the jug to pour more. Present the glass...smile and go 'Please enjoy your milk!' and take the old---Oooh! I did it out of order again!", she huffed.
"Lass. You did that fine. He asked your name.", The bartender coughed.
"...Eh?", Aria paused in confusion,"...My name isn't part of the ste---OH! Oh right..! My name!", Aria slammed her fist into her palm and turned around quickly again to look toward Noah with a grin.
"Sorry! My name's Aria! Aria Reins~. I work here!...Wait...You know that...Uh. N-nice to meet you!", she'd add the last part awkwardly.
Oh, Something's gotta give The paper on the wall soon will peel and fall Oh, then you'll see my face painted up with sin Cover me, Cover me again Cover me again
Noah sighed. This girl was so odd. Then again, what was the fun of life if there weren't oddities? She seemed to be going over something in her head, so she didn't bother her. Where was she supposed to go after this? Cyprus was going to be well rested, at the least. That was good, because maybe they'd head off to the mountains next. There had to be something exciting up there, right? She hadn't been up that way herself, but it kind of excited her, to think about what was up there. Treasure? She could sure go for some.
"Oh thanks." She mentioned when Aria gave her the glass. She took a small sip and placed another Rupee or two down on the counter for her to take. She loved the taste of milk. There was something about it that just calmed Noah down whenever she was stressed out. She had finished about half a glass, listening to the waitresses babble on about some system or something, like it was nothing that she really cared about. Whent he waitress, egged by the bartender, finally told her her name, Noah nodded.
"That's a nice name. don't know how long I'll remember it for though. Because I'm going to be the greatest adventurer ever, and I never stay in one place for long." She mentioned heatedly, downing the rest of her milk. "While you people might be content working in a bar, I've got an itch to travel that just has to be scratched." She explained, placing the glass back down on the bar table. She didn't honestly care if other people thought she was a little heated, because she was going to be the greatest, no doubt about it.
"Humn...an itch, huh?", Aria replied as if taking a moment to absorb the boy's words,"Current-Boss...Doesn't the potion shop a block around here have a cream for that? Scratching might not be the best idea...it'll irritate...What'd you say it was for again?"
"...", the bartender washing the glasses sighed softly and the man that'd taken a seat at the bar burst into laughter directly afterward. She looked confused, but awkwardly smiled directly afterward---pretty much automatically assuming she said something dumb again. But she shrugged it off. She couldn't really help it, after all...it seemed...everytime she opened her mouth she said something stupid.
She still needed to breath so...saying stupid things kind of can't be helped, right?
"R-Right...well! Uh...What are you adventuring to be the greatest? I mean Clock Town's a pretty great adventure! But there are a lot of people...adventuring it. People might think it's pretty over done if you tell them you're adventuring here. Oh! Then again there was this one time I had an adventure at this secret hide-out place. I wound up on a secret mission I didn't even know was secret until I found out the hide out was secret!", while fondly recalling this Aria smiled happily as if she were proud,"The Secret-Hide out's Astro...Astron...Asterona.."
"Astronomer."
"Yeah! That! Astronomer! He said I did a great job delivering his secret Chateau Romi"
The large man sitting next to Noah chuckled to himself,"I'd want it to be a secret too."
Aria blinked softly,"Oh? I thought you liked Chateau Romi...Didn't you say you can't usually afford it, but it's nice every once in a while?"
"N-No..! That's...You're confused, Lass. Twas another guy."
"Oooh? Well okay. If you say so, Mr. Tom.", Aria's smile returned to her while looking back at Noah,"But yeah! Even us bartending folk get adventures sometimes!"
